This pos is nothing more then a novelty. It's so flimsy you need to put it someplace safe where it won't get used. The first one broke when our cat knocked it over.
A high 5 to Amazon tho for sending us another, that I'm sure I'll find a good use for..right..:<

Description of iTouchless 42 Liter Automatic Stainless Steel Touchless Trash Can NX Designed to fit 13 gallon trash bags
This Touchless Trashcan NX model specially designed for 13 gallon tall kitchen size trash bag. As your hand or debris enter the zone 6 inches from the infrared sensor on top of the trash can, the lid will automatically open. The lid will remain open if debris or hand is within the 6 inch range of the infrared sensor. 3 seconds after your hand moves away from the lid it closes automatically. At top front of the lid there are open and close buttons for manual operation, and there is a on/off power switch on the back of the trash can. This 2nd generation automatic trash can improves sensor sensitivity to prevent accidental opening, and a mechanically superior lid opening mechanism for longer lasting, more durable operation. Fits any regular 13 gallon trash bag. Comes with bag retainer ring to secure and hide the trash bag inside the trash can.
