Customer Review: Did not work out of the box!!!

I had a second generation Roomba that died after a year and a half. After about 9 months of using it 3 times a week (scheduled) I told my wife that I thought it had paid for itself. After a couple of years of messy floors, I decided to go with the 560. I bought it new from Amazon, removed the batter tab and let it charge. When it was green I tried to start it up, and it was unable to move forward - it just spun around and backed up a little until it had an error on my thin carpeting and on hardwood. (the Uh-Oh beep with 9 beeps). I checked the bumper and everything seemed ok. I tried resetting the software but that did not work. I am working with Amazon on getting a replacement for this first one.
