Customer Review: it's not perfect but it's very close!

I've had two for about a month and my house has never been so clean! I love this vacuum. I started with one 560 and one 530 but I discovered the lighthouses were very helpful so I returned the 530 and got a second 560. We have an open floor plan and it seemed the roomba was having some trouble figuring out where to go and jumped from room to room. Now that I've learned to use the virtual walls and lighthouses I have much more control over it and it has been very effective doing what I want it to do. If you have a more normal room the roomba has no trouble navigating it and cleaning the whole thing - but our downstairs has few walls and is probably reading like one big room.
At first I had the issue of the bins getting full after each cleaning and needing to clean the brushes each time. This isn't a big deal and I don't mind dumping the bin and cleaning the brushes because I know the roomba is really working! It only takes a couple minutes and it is so worth it. The included brush cleaning tool is very helpful. I also had the dust bunnies that landed on the edge of the rug when it climbed from the hardwood floor to the rug. But I've found that once the roomba is in regular use it doesn't happen because the floors and carpets are much cleaner and it's not picking up so much stuff. So give it a few days to get your floors and carpets under control and it requires less maintenance. I was nervous about the amount of maintenance required to run the roomba but I have to say it's not a big deal and really isn't much effort. I wouldn't let this stop you if you're worried about having to dump the bin and clean the brushes. I hate cleaning (hence the roomba) and this hasn't been a problem at all.
I love the fact it cleans under our bed and that I can press clean - go downstairs -and know that the vacuuming is done. I think this is one of those items I will wonder how I ever lived without. It has outperformed my hoover windtunnel and I've retired the windtunnel. It does a great job of cleaning rugs (and hardwood floors). I'm really very impressed. We have a Beagle who sheds like crazy and it picks up the dog hair very well. I found some accessories on amazon like strips the roomba won't cross to have additional control and keep it out of my daughter's playroom. I'm sure I will have to replace the rechargeable battery at some point (just like any other device with a rechargeable battery). I don't have a problem with this - I'm not paying for vacuum bags and I will be very happy to keep taking care of the roomba since it has really made a big positive difference in our lives!
