Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of iRobot 4905 BatteryCustomer Review: short lived life Summary: 2 StarsAfter only 9 months with my last battery, I had to order another because the one I had no longer charged. I live in CA so had to wait for it to be shipped from Kentucky. The new one came with no directions, but to be safe I put it on the charger for 2 full days before trying it. It hadn't charged. I can't know if it was the charger or the battery at fault. To find out would've taken at least another month of cross country shipping. I had to return it for a refund. That means my iRobot is now useless. Yet, when it works, it suits my purposes better than anything else out there. So, I'll bite the bullet and get another; perhaps newer models will be more reliable.
Customer Review: Roomba battery Summary: 4 StarsThis battery was a lesson for me in not trying to be cheap. I had ordered several used replacement batteries for my Roomba from Ebay. After all the usual power resets and charging intervals recommended by the manufacturer, none of them would hold a charge for more than a couple of minutes.
I finally got smart, paid the money for a new replacement battery and my
Roomba is now vacuuming for 45 minutes without a hitch.
Customer Review: Good price Summary: 5 StarsOrdered, received it quickly, and it worked right out of the box!!! What more could you ask for.
Customer Review: Buyer Beward Summary: 1 StarsBe wary when buying anything from Amazon.com I would suggest, and be sure to read the fine print. Ultimately, this item claims to be sold by Amazon.com. However, if you have a defect, you are instructed by Amazon to direct your returns to the seller/manufacturer. I spent an hour trying to find a way to break through this loophole, even looked for a way to contact Amazon directly; there isn't one. When you phone iRobot (the party listed as the manufacturer of the battery/Roomba) you are informed by their customer service department that they are not responsible for returns, as the item you bought from Amazon was not actually SOLD to Amazon by them. In fact, they let their products be sold to 3rd party sellers, who THEN sell them to Amazon, who then sell them to you. Nice.
So, if this item is defective, who takes the responsibility for it? Apparently, you the consumer, since you won't be getting a refund from either the seller OR the manufacturer.
Customer Review: roomba battery Summary: 5 StarsMy original battery is two years old so it gave out and would not hold a charge. This battery works great. The NiCd battery is more appealing but amazon does not sell it on the site.
