Eventually it happens. The butcher block knife holder runs out of slots and now you have more knives than space for them. Where do you put the bread knife that came with the bread machine? What about that snazzy santoku you just HAD to have because you're a die-hard "Iron Chef" fan and you want to be just like Masaharu Morimoto?
Storing any big sharp knife in a kitchen drawer is an invitation to disaster. Another slotted butcher block will only gobble up more counter space.
Henkels to the rescue! Bolt one of these handy knife holders above the stove, to the side of a cabinet or anywhere else it'll fit. Now those extra knives are right you need them but safely out of the reach of curious little hands.
The dual magnetic strips hold each knife securely, yet they release with a twist of the wrist. And don't worry about that big heavy chef's knife or that new santoku. The bigger the blade, the more secure the gripping action. A magnetic knife holder also lessens the chance of dulling the blade because you're not dragging it out of a slot in a butcher block (the proper way to store your knives in a butcher block is with the edges up; it may not look like the picture on the box but it keeps the edges sharp).
