Just as the other reviewer said, I got this apple corer based on watching Alton Brown's show and desiring a corer that would make more than 6 or 8 slices out of an apple. Unfortunately, this corer broke within the first couple of apples I used it on (one of the ribs broke off the outer support circle). Luckily I had a torch and some solder handy and I re-soldered the rib back on within a couple of minutes. Hope my "fix" holds for a while and other ribs don't start breaking off. I appreciate that this unit is all metal (no plastics or rubbers) so I could perform such an easy fix without worrying about things melting or burning. Here's hoping I have better luck with this corer in the future.
