Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Vinturi Essential Wine AeratorCustomer Review: No hype - it works! Summary: 4 StarsThis is not the magnetic fuel line ionization cleaner - this works. The Vinturi adds air to the wine as you pour and the resulting glass of wine is smoother, more taste. No need to decant, you can now have your single glass of wine easily - if you can now stop at one!
Customer Review: for a deeper and more full bodied wine.... Summary: 5 StarsI am not a wine expert by any means, but I do love wine and love to have a nightly glass while I let the cares of the day fade into the background. I had heard from a friend who works in the wine department of a popular chain that a wine aerator would be worth my money, making my wine tasting experience even better.
I'll be honest....I knew decanting and letting a wine "breathe" for a while would enhance the flavor, but when I get home, I truly just want to open up a bottle and have a sip....The aerator sounded like it might be a good idea.
So, this week my husband and I broke down and bought one. We tasted a new bottle of wine, then ran it through the aerator. The taste that had gone through the aerator had a much more full bouquet and the taste was fuller. (Remember, I am not a wine expert, so I may not be using the "wine-o-phile" words, but you get my drift....it tasted better and I didn't have to wait. So, you are looking at two satisfied customers.
I never really pictured myself buying one of these because I always thought that they were for the hoity toity set, or those who really knew stuff about grapes, vintage, etc. It is not. It is for people who enjoy wine, plain and simple. If you love wine, as I do, then this would be a nice product to have, and trust me, you will taste the difference.
Customer Review: Some are scratched, most are not Summary: 2 StarsTwo stars because their quality standards are just too low for an otherwise excellent product. We've bought four Vinturi wine aerators. Three of them were fine, but one had the distracting scratches from each vent hole. Vinturi describes these scratches in the product documentation as "fold lines" and "normal", an artifact of the manufacturing process.. and yes, you can see that these aren't actually scratches or cracks but a molded-in flaw. Rather than just scrap them and delight all their customers with first quality units, Vinturi instead made a poor choice to ship these units and describe this flaw as 'normal', to the irritation of the unlucky minority that receive these factory-second versions. Vinturi selected factory-first aerators for their marketing photographs, and you should select factory-first aerators too. So keep your Amazon shipping box until you examine the aerator for these flaws, or shop locally and select first quality units from a local store. Bon appetit!
Customer Review: Great invention!!!!!!!!! Summary: 5 StarsA relative had one of these for wine tasting over the holidays! It worked so well that I just had to have one. Ordered one for my daughter as well. This is a great way to serve red wine immediately - really enhances the taste and no longer have to sit and wait for that bottle of wine to breath to get it to taste good.
Customer Review: Instead of bulky decanter and waiting and swirling.... Summary: 5 StarsAerating wine does have a positive effect on almost any wine (in my case, red wines). Letting a wine "breathe" helps it open up. Most wine people like to open a bottle 15-20 minutes before drinking, or decant it (a royal pain) and swirl wine around in the glass to do this "opening up" process which softens the wine, adds complexity and character to the wine.
This device simply speeds up the process, and aerates virtually every drop. The effect is that it immediately tastes like a wine that been opened a while and swirled quite a bit already, even though you've just opened the bottle. Cleanup involves pouring some distilled water through the device and letting it dry.
I wish I had seen/heard/thought of this earlier as I've spent a lot of money and used a lot of storage space for wine decanters that take forever to clean and dry and don't do a better job of caring for your wine.
