We were at Murrieta's Well in Livermore California and I saw one of these and asked what it was. The server poured us one glass with and one glass of the same wine without. I had the glass with and my wife had the glass without. Immediately noticed the aroma was much more open. My wife said it made the wine taste like a bowl of fruit instead of wine.
The next winery we got them to use it and same thing. Then Then when we got home we experimented more with one and I have to admit it makes a difference.

I was introduced to this tool at a friend's place in October. She never pours a bottle of red wine without it. I purchased it and we have tested on several different wines. i will admit that it's effect is not too noticeable on some but it's amazingly effective on others. Easy to use and store, it has become an integral part of our bar tool set. I liked it so much that we bought one for our daughter and her husband for Christmas. I ordered a VINTURI for two reasons:1) If you can pay a relatively small amount for a durable product that just might make less expensive wines taste better and/or do the same for better wines, Q-Why not?
2) I figure that if I have one of these gizmos , then some unknowing guest might actually I think I know more about wines than I actually do !
It makes sense, as did a positive article I read in the Atlanta Journal Constitution.I think that it probably does give most any wine a 'boost' in flavour.

This is a great little invention! We spent Christmas taste-testing wines before and after using the aerator, and the difference was unbelievable (for red wines). After seeing how well this works, I'm going to have a hard time drinking wines that haven't used it.
The affect on white wines was not as noticeable, but still made a difference. I've subsequently seen that there is a separate aerator for white wines, so I'll have to try it out.
This product is definitely worth the price.

I bought my first one of these at a winery in Napa after a few too many tastings and initially regretted it. It was $50 and I thought it was a gimmick. I've been using this constantly for several years since and have zero regrets, this is an awesome product. Cleaning a glass decantor, drying it and keeping it dust free it a real hassle and there's no need with the Vinturi. It is a little pricey but is very solid well made product and comes packaged very nicely. Makes a great gift for your wine lover friends.
