Customer Review: Would Not Be Without It...
Summary: 5 Stars

Over the years I've bought about every kitchen gadget you can think of, most of which end up stored god knows where. I bought the Vidalia Chopper about 4 years ago. A while back while fixing dinner, my wife, always the skeptic, commented, "If this ever breaks, you better have a spare somewhere...I use this as much as anything we own."

Buy bell peppers or onions on sale, in minutes you have a bag of what appear to be perfect, commercially prepared packages of diced veggies ready to pop into the freezer and use when you need them.

I've been pretty hard on this machine, but so far so good, nothing has broken. Of course one wants to use common sense, I'm sure if you tried to but a big potato or a huge onion in there you could manage to break something, but I just slice them in half, position them, and it works ever time. Perfect for dicing baked potatoes for O'Brien style hash-browns. This does EVERYTHING they claimed and is well worth the money.

Customer Review: Vidalia Chop Wizard WORKS!
Summary: 5 Stars

I love to cook but I hate having to chop up vegetables (ie: carrots, onion, peppers, mushrooms) into small sizes because I'm afraid of cutting my fingers. The Vidalia Chop Wizard takes that fear away. You just place the vegetable on top of the blades, push the lid down, and you're done. It's not messy and it saves time. I love apples, but eating them is uncomfortable for my teeth. Not anymore. After removing the core, I place the apple on the Vidalia Chop Wizard and next I have 1 cup of bite sized apples I can eat. The only complaint I have is that the blades are difficult to clean if there is food stuck to them. Also, it takes a little muscle to push the lid down on the Vidalia Chop Wizard, but it works. If your onions aren't being chopped all the way, you should try cutting it into quarters, which is what the instructions suggest. Thanks to the Vidalia Chop Wizard I don't have to worry about cutting my fingers or my hands smelling like onions. Good product!

Customer Review: I love the chop wizard!
Summary: 5 Stars

It's almost perfect. I got it so my children could be more "helpful" in the kitchen. They can safely chop apples and potatoes for me. (Ages 3 & 5). They love to eat fruits and veggies they helped to prepare. The really cool thing though is that *I* use it all the time. I can quickly chop lots o' veggies in a uniform size so that everything cooks evenly and looks nice. I use the small grate for matchstick/ julienne type applications and the larger one for more bite size pieces. The only improvement I would make is to make the chopping surface larger- then add more of an assisted lever for the chopping. The chop wizard can handle 1/4 apple or 1/8 large onion easily. It's difficult to chop larger pieces and the container that catches the pieces is a bit small for large volume applications. As a whole, however, if you prepare a lot of produce, it's worth the space in a small kitchen even if you don't like a lot of clutter from too many gadgets.

Customer Review: great!

I waffled back and forth on getting this, and I'm thrilled I finally caved and forked over the $20. It has saved so much prep time. I cook constantly, and I've been able to use this for just about any dicing job (it's not so hot for soft items like bread). This even works on meats, especially if they are slightly frozen. The two blade choices are great. I've only had this for a few weeks, so I can't speak for the durability. However, it seems to be well-made and strong. I recommend this to people all the time, and so far no one has brought a busted-down wreck of a wizard to my doorstep. After I bought this, I checked out other, slightly cheaper store brand versions, and this model feels much sturdier. If you're trying to decide between this one and, say, a $14 model, I'd say spring for the extra few bucks and go with this. I'm planning to give these as gifts to all my friends and family who cook.

Customer Review: GREAT ITEM 5 Stars

I don't understand what all the bad reviews are about. My 73 year old Mother uses hers all the time & she has never had a problem with it. I use mine all the time. You have to cut your veggies to fit the grate. I love this product. I've had mine for several years & it's never broke. If the veggies are old they will not work. They have to be fresh. When I make potato salad I chop all my veggies with it. It's a great product!!!! Don't listen to all the bad reviews! Listen to the 5 star reviews because they are right!!! For the ones that the item broke..I don't know what you were chopping!! As for the cleaning, When I get ready to clean mine, I tap it against the sink & anything that's stuck to the blades comes right out. The little fork the cleans the cover works great. You just scrape it as you run water over it & it cleans right up. NO PROBLEM HERE!!!!
