I like keeping my knives very sharp, and since I don't have a decent organizer in my kitchen drawers, I like keeping my knives sheathed, to protect their edges, as well as my hands. This fits the bill fine for my Victorinox 7 inch santoku, which is extremely sharp.
The build quality is nice, the material durable, and there are feet that keep the blade from sliding around inside the sheath. The cover is slightly opaque, allowing you to look inside at the knife, if you have multiple blades and multiple sheaths. The handle is revealed, allowing easy grip while undoing the clasps that keep the unit closed (which are very secure)
My only complaint is that the rubber feet leave little foot prints on my knife. Other than that, it's a worthwhile investment.
