Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Victorinox Cutlery 8-Inch Wavy Edge Bread Knife, Black Fibrox HandleCustomer Review: Does its job Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this knife based on reviews. I would have gone with the 10 inch but it was not available through Amazon and I think having to pay the additional S&H ridiculous. That and reviewers had spoken of it being such a big knife! The 8 inch size is great and it cuts bread very well, but I did expect it to be a bit sharper. It is sharp enough, however, for me to wish it was sold with a blade guard!
Customer Review: My New Favorite Knife Summary: 5 Stars
I received this knife as a wedding present about 6 months ago, and so far I've been thrilled with it. My husband and I eat a LOT of crusty, artisan-style breads, and my old bread knife just couldn't handle them. This knife is long enough to get through all of the loaves I buy, and gets right through the crust without mangling the loaf. I'd give it 10 stars if I could!
Customer Review: More than a cut above the rest Summary: 5 Stars
This is the only bread knife I've used that can slice fresh bread-machine loaves cleanly, without smashing the loaf. I can make a hard-crusted artisan type bread and the knife slices easily through that also. This knife is so good that I'm going to have to try some more Forschner products. Btw, I really like the Fibrox handle. I'll never buy another type.
Customer Review: Wow, this one is a keeper! Summary: 5 Stars
Although I'm a Wusthof man, I've never been disappointed by a Victorinox/Forschner knife, and this bread knife is no exception. The perfect length, it's one of the sharpest ones in the block. It can also double as a turkey knife. The handle feels good, even in large hands. Strongly recommended for both quality and value.
Customer Review: Watch your fingers! Summary: 5 Stars
An excellent knife. I was unaware that serrated edges were so dangerous. I immediately sliced a finger open cutting into a roast. It cuts like a laser and it's easy to handle - very light weight. The 8 inch blade seems adequate for all my needs so far but I like this one so much that now I want to try a 10 inch model.
