This is a great knife. It comes extremely sharp, it holds its edge well, and it sharpens very, very easily. It has a comfortable handle and it doesn't suffer from any discoloration during use.
In my opinion, 6" would be the perfect size - 5" is just a bit too small for regular cooking use, even though I generally prefer smaller knives generally (although this little guy makes a great steak knife).

Cook's Illustrated was right, this brand of knife is great, especially for the price. I am ususally cooking for 2, so am not cutting/chopping great amounts of food. This filled the bill perfectly, and fit my hand. I especially liked the textured handle that was not slick when wet. If you are looking for a smaller knife to do everyday jobs this is the knife.Customer Review: Good for cutting

This is an excellent knife, a great value. The whole Victorinox Fibrox line seems to have good quality and at a price well below most knives of similar quality. This is not a fancy knife, but it is a good tool. I have three other Chef knives from this manufacturer and am happy with all. Cook's also has reviewed their larger Chef knife as top notch. I primarily use this particular knife for vegetable prep. Handles like a much more expensive knife. Not top-of-the-line clearly, but makes it easy for this user to make quick and precise work of fruit and veg. Comfortable handle for long work. Very pleased.
