I ordered this knife after reading a positive review at Cook's Illustrated. It did not disappoint; quality is excellent, especially at such a reasonable price. Cuts smoothly and easily through everything I've tried. Has held its edge well. Blade is thin enough to slice thinly through bread or tomatoes without crushing, yet sturdy enough to cut meat. I read reviews about the Forschner and wondered, do I really need another bread knife? I bought it and realized that, yes, I really did! Slices very thin and even. I love it and use it whenever I can. I also use this knife to score the tops of my artisan bread before baking. My son used it and now he wants one, too.
p.s. My other bread knives are history.

This is by far, the best quality bread knife for cutting custom bread loaves I have ever held, seen, or used. Its grib and balance feels great in your hand, and it slices even more delicate bread without using any pressure.
If you only ever get one bread knife in your entire life, this is what you have been looking for...and at a very fair price.

I won't write a lengthy review here because there are so many good ones that pretty much cover how great this knife really is!! It is an FANTASTIC value and I LOVE THIS KNIFE!! The quality is outstanding, and it is much larger than most serrated knives that I've come across, but takes less work to get the job done.
What a great gift it would make.

I've just returned to baking bread on a regular basis. I have three or four bread knives, but none have allowed me to slice cleanly and accurately... until now. This slicing knife is amazing. I can cut through all types of bread, making thin slices without tearing. Furthermore, this knife is a great value. I couldn't be happier with the purchase.
