Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Victorinox 47508 3-1/4-Inch Paring Knife

Customer Review: Like the Swiss Army version of a paring knife
Summary: 5 Stars

If you like Victorinox's Swiss Army knives, you'll feel right at home with this paring knife - it's small, light and very very sharp.

Compared with other paring knives in a similar price range, it's superior in retaining its sharpness and is extremely easy to resharpen back to its original condition. I hadn't realized how dulled my other knives were getting - when I started using the Victorinox knives, it dramatically improved how fast I could prepare food. This is perfect for slicing ginger and garlic, but is also just the right size for avocados and mushrooms. Together with the Victorinox 9" chopping knife, these are hands-down the knives we use most often in the kitchen.

Customer Review: Best little kitchen knife regardless of price...
Summary: 5 Stars

This knife was bought out of jar on the counter of the Robertson's Meats main store in OK. I got it as a whim needing to cut a summer sausage in the car. What a surprise...it has been great and I have bought 3 more.

What is the best thing in a knife is how long it keeps it's edge and how well it sharpens. This knife beats any other brand in this category. Yes the handle is simple and small.

No other knife let's me slice a block of hard cheese paper thin without much thinking about it and other's always drift. The beauty is in the thin blade...it is not flimsy...thinness of the blade is what makes the knife and yet it is durable.

Customer Review: Excellent knife
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought the paring knife after I read great reviews of the chef knife and bought that first. I now have three of the paring, and 4 other models. These knives are without doubt, the best value you will find in a knife. This knife is razor sharp from the first time you use it, to many months later. It will be one of your favorites because it is light and sharp. It stays sharp for a very long time. Don't ask me how they do it, but all of their knives are that sharp, and just as good. Once you try this paring knife, you will want them all. What do you have to lose? It's not like this knife cost and arm and a leg. Keep your limbs, buy this knife.

Customer Review: Unfussy, multi-use knife
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a neat alternative to the expensive Wusthof knives. I haven't used those expensive brands so I do not know if they are that much better than Victorinox. Anyway, if you are not going to be able to buy a Wusthof or a J.A. Henckel, this is a good brand to consider. It is very comfortable to hold and use; it is good at paring and coring. I think it works well on almost any kind of small vegetable. The blade's not intimidatingly sharp and I like the simple look. If it lasts at least three years, like my last paring knife, that's a good return for the price. (I will let you know if mine does).

Customer Review: sharp knife
Summary: 5 Stars

This is an ordinary looking paring knife whose appearance would not make you think of it as a premium product. But when I gripped I found the handle to be a good fit to my hand and comfortable. It was very sharp when it arrived but I touched it up and now it isextemely sharp and holds that sharpness quite well. I've put away my other dull paring knives. One thing that comes with the sharpness is that the blade is much thinner than the usual paring knife so it does not have the side-to-side stiffness of heavier knives. You might want to think about how you want to use it before you buy.
