My husband likes to cook and complained about our knives for years. So, I bought these for our 20th anniversary. When they arrived, I thought they looked huge and scary and almost sent them back. Good that I didn't . . . he loves them. Even more surprising, I summoned my courage and used them. What a revelation! You don't work to slice anything . . . the blade just gently touches an object and, voila, it's instantly effortlessly cut. These knives just feel so right in your hand and make food prep so easy. I have been cooking now for about 40 years. (Can't believe it's been that long)... In all of these years I have yearned for a decent set of knives, but shuddered when I would see the prices. These knives are awesome! I am so pleased with their super sharp blades. With a little tender care, these knives will give me slicing pleasure (if there is such a thing) for the rest of my life. Do yourself a favor, get some decent knives! If you are on a budget and love to cook, these knives are the answer for you. A+++Customer Review: Stop reading and buy them.

The Chef's knife is great. 10 inches seemed unwieldly in theory, but is soooo useful in practice.
I use the slicing knife all the time. I used it for about 3 hours straight while breaking down 4 sides of venison and couldn't have asked for more.
The paring knife fits well in my hand and is nimble enough to section citrus precisely or peel an apple.
I love these knives. They have replaced a whole block of knives that we received as a wedding gift. Buy them already.

Did all the comparison shopping (Cook's Illustrated, Amazon community) and landed here (with the Kapoosh knife block which is stupendous) and am such a happy cook. Also ordered the boning knife. With these knives I realized I never had a really sharp knife before and what a difference it makes. The paring knife peeled kohlrabi (one of my favorite raw veggies) like going through butter instead of wood. Can't believe I waited so long to get the right tools to be a happy cook.Customer Review: Great kitchen knives

My son needed some new kitchen knives for his apartment. We did not want to spend a lot since he is still a college student but we did want a decent set of knives because he does enjoy cooking. These knives were perfect. They were reasonably priced and the quality was excellent! They are comfortable in the hand and the knives that come in the set are what a basic cook would need. These are knives that he will be able to have for a long time.
