After searching stores looking for a knife set I began researching online. I found this set and was a bit reluctant. They didn't come with a knife block, they didn't have wooden handles, and the brand wasn't ringing a bell. But they were rated so highly, and the comments so positive, I decided to take a chance. They are AMAZING! Manufactured by the company that makes Swiss Army Knives, they are beautifully made. These three knives will do virtually anything you need done in the kitchen, so you don't really need more knives. They have excellent weight, good balance, and the grip feels ergonomic. While priced at the low end for good knives, you feel you are using the Mercedes of knives. This is a great set for anyone who loves cooking or quality. And as an aside, I was happy to have to find an alternative to the knife block. I got a strip magnet, and it is so much better!Customer Review: A great starter set

This is my first set of "real" knives, and they are great! Very comfortable to grip and use, and they are super sharp. When they first arrived, my roommate ran his thumb over the edge of the chef's knife and expressed skepticism about its sharpness. So he picked up a piece of paper and sliced at it. The cut was quick and smooth. He was impressed. My experience cutting tomatoes--often a good test--has been the same.
I had done a bunch of research before deciding on these knives. They are definitely a good buy, lots of value for the money. My only slight complaint (and it is really not much of one) is that they are advertised as dishwasher-safe, though hand washing is recommended. But when the set arrived, its instructions say specifically not dishwasher safe. It hasn't been a big deal. I wash the knives lovingly by hand.

I just purchased this knife set for my son for Christmas, after reading good reviews. The knives have met all my expectations so far. They are very sharp, and the fibrox handles are substantial, non-slip, and comfortatble. The first test was 4 butternut squash my son volunteered to peel and cut up for Christmas dinner. Cutting hard squash is a task I don't look forward to, but the paring knife did the peeling, and the chef's knife did the chopping, with no problem. I then borrowed the paring knife to cut up an onion, and was amazed at how easily it went through the onion compared to the Chicago Cutlery I've used for years. For less than $50, I'm ready to buy another set for myself!Customer Review: Great quality, and when on sale, value can't be beat.

I purchased my set from amazon's warehouse at a discount because the box was torn. As I was buying them for myself, that wasn't in issue for me and saved me a decent amount.
For years, over 25, I've had a great knife made from Brazilian steel. Great handle, and held an edge for all 25 plus years. Alas, it no longer does.
I bought some decent knives at stores, but none held an edge for very long.
I read reviews on these and since I was able to get them at a really good price, I went made the purchase.
I am glad I did. These knives are sharp and well made.

My husband and I got a set of crappy Henkels for a wedding gift that were dull to begin with so after researching on the internet, one rated this set as #1 for a budget conscious kitchen. These knives have far exceeded my expectations. I've had them 6 months, handwash after each use and they're still razor sharp as the day I got them. My husband is always amazed at how much easier cutting up veggies is with a sharp knife.
I've also bought the 6" santoku which upholds the same awesome quality. I definitely recommend this set for those who want super sharp, quality knives at a great price.
