I purchased this knife a few months back, put in one of my three knife blocks and forgot all about it.
I needed to slice a fully ripe tomato and was getting frustrated with the dozens of knives not being able to pierce the skin when I reached for this beauty, stuck way back in it's slot. Wow, it sliced through the skin like a hot knife in butter. Glad I rediscovered it because I know what to reach for now.

Though lightweight, this is the PERFECT knife to have in your kitchen. It is extremely sharp and an ideal size for everyday work. I bought the 8" one as well but I find myself using the 6" the most; it is thinner and therefore less bulky to use. The only thing I've had to get used to is its weight. I'm used to a heavier knife but the quality of the blade makes up for his lightness.Customer Review: great knife for the price

I bought the 8-inch model of this knife first and liked it so much I ordered the 6-inch, which is actually a better size for me. I use it a lot. Both the 8-inch and 6-inch cut very sharply. I didn't want to spend the kind of money that the "top" quality knives cost and these knives do a great job in the kitchen for a fraction of the cost. Victorinox are great knives. They have been reviewed in tons of cooking magazines and always hold their own against the much more expensive knives. I've owned this knife about six months now, hone it with every use, and it's still razor sharp. If you're cooking with dull knives that you bought in a set at Wal-Mart/Target, get this knife! I've been looking for a replacement paring knife for a long time, and this one really suits me. Its lightweight fibrox handle fits my smallish hand perfectly. It's just the right length for all sorts of paring chores, and is also nice and sharp. The price is very reasonable as well. I get the feeling I will be using this knife for a long time to come.
