Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Victorinox 40570 Cutlery 6-Inch Chef's Knife, Black Fibrox Handle

Customer Review: knice knife!
Summary: 5 Stars

You can pay quite a bit for quality knives and not get near the edge or feel of this Victorinox chef's knife. It maybe doesn't have the "weight" some feel a knife this good should have, but it is very comfortable to work with and one soon appreciates how versatile a 6-inch blade can be. The price was way under what we were looking at in the brick and mortar shops. We were able to get this knife, the smaller paring knife, and the large 10", and a block to hold them (and others) for the same price as one "high end" paring knife. A super bargain.

Customer Review: Love this knife!
Summary: 5 Stars

My first Victorinox knife was the 10" chef's knife, which I liked so much, I wanted to purchase another smaller knife to add to my kitchen. I was hestiant about this knife because some of the negative reviews. But it was under $20, so why not give it a try. I have to say, my larger 10" chef's knife has now been replaced by this one as my everyday knife. It's much lighter and easier to use. I still love the 10" knife, but this 6" knife is much easier to use and control when cutting.

Customer Review: Great knife!
Summary: 5 Stars

I ordered this knife because of the great review America's Test Kitchen gave to the 8" version. I was taking a chance because the 6" knife wasn't mentioned in the review and it has paid off very well. This knife is sharp, light, and perfect for my hand. It slices, dices, chops and in general does everything a knife is called upon to do. I wouldn't use it for boning, skinning, or whittling because I don't do any of those things. But, for cutting up an onion this one is perfect.

Customer Review: Super Sharp!
Summary: 5 Stars

Several months ago I purchased the 10" version of this knife and wanted a smaller one for small jobs, so I purchased this one. I used it today in preparing a potato salad and I was AMAZED how it just slid through the potatoes, onion, and other ingredients with almost zero resistance. Just keep in mind that it's VERY sharp - it sliced through one potato so fast that I didn't have time to adjust and it sliced my hand open. Trust the reviews on here - this is a great knife!!

Customer Review: Wonderfull knife.
Summary: 5 Stars

The size of this knife is so handy that I find I go for it more often then my 8 inch chefs knife. Even though I have large hands I still find this knife comfortable to use. The Fibrox handle is wonderful even with slippery hands. When I saw an old school celebrity french chef tended to use a knife this size rather often, I decided to give it a try. I was not disapoionted. I have never seen a 6 inch chefs knife in any set. It's worth it to buy the single knife.
