Quick review here: product works great to clean out drip coffee maker. We had an expensive coffee maker / grinder unit that we bought this for. Eventually that thing died, and we went back to a cheap-o drip maker. Anyway, the coffee pot in the cheap-o unit got nasty after a few months. We dumped 1 tsp of this stuff in the drip tank and a full coffee pot of water. We ran the cycle and let the water with the cleaner sit in the pot for 45 minutes.
Boom: clean coffee pot (and presumably the innards of the machine).
What more could you want?
We bought the liquid cleaner stuff before (Durgol, I believe), and the powder works just as well. Except the powder is probably 1/20th the cost in terms of a per clean cost.
For an average coffee maker, one bottle will last forever. Seriously. There must be 500 tsps in a bottle of the powder product.

This is amazing stuff - it only takes a little powder to get a lot of coffee stains off of equipment. It also doesn't leave a flavor behind. When I first used this I was working as a barista in a bookstore and was amazed at how quickly the powder removed a day's worth of coffee grunge from our espresso machine and coffee pots. The only trouble we ever had with it was when we used too much powder - then the powder didn't fully dissolve and had to be wiped off. But even then it didn't affect the taste of the espresso the next morning. I would say for home use, you probably don't need more than a half teaspoon to clean out a coffee pot. I will probably purchase some once it comes back in stock!Customer Review: Good stuff!

It's amazing how just a tiny pinch of this stuff works so effectively. With just 1/2 teaspoon in my blind basket and a few 10 second brew cycles, my espresso machine has never been cleaner. The first time you use it, you may be shocked to see how much crud it flushes out...subsequent cleanings will probably not be so dramatic!
I also soaked my filter baskets and portafilter in a teaspoon dissolved in a quart of hot water, and they came out looking like new. I'd previously tried a variety of cleaners, but was unable to remove all the brown stains.

If you back-flush your espresso machine often you may not fully appreciate how effective Cafiza is. I lost my back-flush insert (a.k.a. blind basket) about six months ago and only recently purchased a new one. Upon receiving the back-flush insert, I quickly tested it by doing a water-only back-flush on my Rancilio Silvia. The back-flush water was relatively clean considering it had been six months since the last back-flush. I then performed the typical Cafiza back-flush and noticed just how much residue this product actually removes.Customer Review: Also cleans stainless steel Thermos

I bought it for backflushing a Pasquini espresso machine and it works well for that, but I found out it makes the inside of my stainless steel Thermos as clean as new. Pour in a little powder, fill it to the top with steaming hot water from the espresso machine, and in less than 1/2 hour there are dozens of tiny streams of brown things (probably milk+coffee residue) that come out of the Thermos. No scrubbing needed. This, from a Thermos that is washed weekly and rinsed after use every day.
