Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Track Tree Floor Lamp with 3 Metal Shades - Steel /Includes CFL Bulbs/Customer Review: great item! Summary: 5 Stars
These are great! Sturdy, stylish, very very easy to assemble, and they are rugged. They look great in my living room and my bedroom both. I am very glad I got these. Try it... you'll like it.
Customer Review: Good value, reasonable utility Summary: 4 Stars
This item seems to be a good value for $25. Styling and design are very attractive. You really can adjust the lamps without having them stick in or creep out of position.
Packing is okay; I noticed very light scuffs on the base and on one of the chromed accents that I have been able to easily ignore.
You should expect heat production from any incandescent bulb; sorry, but this metal unit cannot bend the laws of physics and be cool to the touch shortly after it's turned on. Try turning bulbs OFF before adjusting them.
The quality of light from this unit is sort of marginal, though I'd expect most fixtures of this type to waste a lot of light by not reflecting it outward very well. It's fine for bouncing light off the ceiling or walls, or using the highest bulb to directly light a desk surface. As with any bare bulb, light is soft when reflected and harsh when used directly.
Finally, the unit stands more or less straight. I have never had a problem with it tipping over. In fact, the base is quite heavy and inspires confidence. And if you're tripping circuit breakers with 60W bulbs, you've got other problems, pal.

Customer Review: I Still Like It! Summary: 4 Stars
I've had this lamp for over a year and have had no problems. It's a great accent to the other furniture in the room and provides the opportunity to direct the light in several directions instead of having all the light going up or down as with most lamps. In reference to the outlet problems pointed out by the other two reviewers, mine is plugged into the outlet where the powerstrip for my computer and all its accessories are plugged in. I haven't run into a problem with the circuits yet. I do agree that the shades get very hot, but that's pretty much a given if you buy a lamp with metal shades on it (duh). As for the children, it's also a given to not put things on the floor that a child could knock over. All floor lamps are top heavy and will fall if a baby trys to use it to stand.
Customer Review: Sturdy lamp Summary: 4 Stars
This one seems sturdier than most of the pole lamps that won't stay screwed together, topple over and are a major pain. It's attractive and seems to be made of heavier material. So far it's working out well and staying where I need it to be.
