There are not many pros and cons you can really give a knife. As long as it does its job - cuts - for the most part, it's a success. However, having owned several bread knives, this one does shine above others.

First, the ergonomics of the handle. Compared to Chicago Cutlery Walnut Tradition 10-Inch Serrated Bread/Slicing Knife, this knife has a lot nicer feel in the hand. At first, the somewhat rubberized (nonstick) grip seems odd, as I haven't had a knife with this type of handle, but after using it, it's easier to control and feels more natural.

Another comparison, the bread knife in the Ginsu 14-Piece Stainless Knife Set with Block does a fine job cutting, but its overall heft, while feeling "sturdy/quality," it really doesn't lend itself well for cutting. A heavy knife certainly isn't needed (or desired) when cutting bread.

Between those two knives, this one wins hands-down. And it cuts very, very nicely, too. (I would like to point out, however, that I haven't had any problems with actual cutting or the blades of the others, though.)

Overall: a great cutting knife that feels a lot better to hold than others. And when you're dealing with a sharp hunk of metal, how comfortable it is certainly makes a difference.

*Update 3/21/2010: While designated a bread knife, this also has the uncanny ability to slice through fingertips as if they were bread...or butter.*
