Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Therrmos Nissan 16-Ounce Stainless Steel Backpack BottleCustomer Review: Excellent Product Summary: 5 StarsIt's the absolute best thermos made for keeping beverages hot or cold. They stay at those temps for at least 5 hours.
Customer Review: after six hours still warm Summary: 5 StarsJust got this for Christmas, had to try it right away. I actually don't like my coffee scalding hot, after an hour of it staying too hot, I threw an ice cube in and it was perfect! Then I went on a walk, came home and took a nap, and when I woke up it was still hot enough to drink! I could not be happier with this thermos. I would definitely recommend this.
Customer Review: The best for coffee! Summary: 5 StarsI bought this as a gift but have one myself. It will keep coffee hot for a 12 hour night shift! I love it. Very worth the money.
Customer Review: Hot, hot, hot! Summary: 5 StarsWow. This mug is incredible. I have a Nissan 14-Ounce Stainless-Steel Insulated Travel Tumbler, which I've used for 6 years, but now that I'm riding my bike more I needed something spill-proof. I first tried the Contigo tumbler, which just wouldn't keep my coffee hot for more than an hour and a half (I tried two of them). I should have stuck with the brand I know. This mug keeps my coffee hot ALL DAY and doesn't leak. What more could you ask for? It actually might work too well, so I end up adding a little water to my coffee when I get to school, or I keep the lid off for a while before I leave so that it cools down a bit(have had many burned tongues!). Heat dissipates very slowly. I can toss it in my bag or anywhere, and it doesn't leak. There's also a safety latch you can use to keep the button from being accidentally depressed. When you push the button the lid flips open, and it stays in place while you're drinking (it doesn't flop around). Fantastic!
Customer Review: Just don't overfill it before screwing on the lid Summary: 5 StarsThis is the only travel mug I've purchased that is not only a keeper, but a treasure. I can't live without it. The two things that make it so perfect is that, as so many others have noted, the beverage stays HOT, scalding hot, for several hours as long as you pre-heat it with hot water and the lid screwed on. I do this while making my coffee. The second thing is that it does not spill or dribble - as long as you don't overfill the container. I overfilled it a few times and lived to regret it until I finally understood that if I wanted the Thermos THAT full of coffee I could pour a little splash more into the drinking cap after the cap/lid is firmly screwed on. Just don't fill it too full prior to screwing the cap on or the splashes will be on your shirt! ("Too full" means above where the base curves in for the cap to screw on it. You'll think it isn't too full until you drink from the Thermos and discover that the overflow was invisibly trapped in the threads of the screw on top, ready to leak out every time you tip the mug up to drink from it. There is never any problem as long as you don't overfill.)
I use this Thermos 16-Ounce Stainless Steel Backpack Bottle everyday, and no longer want to buy coffee in a paper cup. The paper cup cools down too fast. My Thermos motivates me to save money by making coffee at home, and also motivates me to save trees. It is truly a well-designed travel mug. It even fits in all cup-holders I've tried so far.
