My husband and I have owned our Nissan 18 oz Thermos for well over 6 years. I bought mine because I was so impressed at the great job it does at keeping drinks cold for LONG periods of time. I put ice and water in it at bedtime, and what's leftover in the morning is still icy cold and still has ice cubes - very little melting. As for hot drinks, we have the same result - keeps hot drinks hot for hours. The lid has a flip open tab that keeps the drink sealed until you want a sip and then flips back with ease. Now we've bought this one for my mother who was equally impressed.Customer Review: tumbler tumbles

Nissan makes the best insulated mugs hands down. Hot liquids stay hot for hours because of the stainless steel vacuum technology. The mugs/tumblers also last for years because they are stainless. The only reason why I bought a new one is because the old one had fallen so many times -- on the road, on the ground, down a waterfall lookout(!) that it was too severely dented. Once the outer steel wall touches the inner steel wall from denting, the heat gets transferred to the outside, and the liquid will not stay as hot. When I wreck this one up, I'll get another. Have had a smaller version of this tumbler for a number of years and always wished it was larger. I was surprised to find out there was a larger tumbler so I ordered 3! My neighbor, a school bus driver has been using it on the hot training days and declares it kept her drink cold all day! The other one I gave to my brother who already had several smaller versions and now says this is is favorite cup! I absolutely don't go anywhere without my cup and am so glad I found this one on Amazon at an amazing price! Do yourself a favor and order one or more!

I purchased this insulated travel mug for my coffee and was very impressed at the length of time it kept my coffee hot. It kept my coffee hotter than any travel mug I've every owned. Keep the flip down drinking cover closed when not drinking your coffee and it will stay hot for hours (you'll use the flip cover as a finger grip when drinking) . I was so impressed I purchased more for family and friends and also gave them as Christmas gifts. The only strike is that it's not leakproof. I had Nissan's 14-ounce version of the same for well over 10 years until my wife ran over it. Tried a couple of others with the spring tops, but each one failed shortly after acquiring each.
When I found that an 18-ounce version was available, I had to get it. It's perfect. My coffee machine brews coffee directly into one or two travel mugs, either of which is the perfect amount of coffee to pour into the Nissan tumble. The coffee is made at 6:45am and is still warm at noon.
Couldn't be happier!
