this mug is awesome! no, the lid is not spill-proof, just spill-resistant (no more so than your average takeout dunkin donuts styrofoam cup). the purpose of this mug is to keep your beverage hot or cold while you're on the go, and it's phenomenal. i can make my coffee at 6:30am, and still have very, very warm coffee at 11:30am. this is a huge convenience in my life as i work fulltime with three children. not only does this mug do a great job of insulating coffee, it has a fairly large capacity (most mugs are 14-oz sizes), without becoming top-heavy. i've made some fairly sharp, quick turns and sudden stops with a full mug, and it's never fallen over or spilled. i highly recommend this cup - it's worth every penny!Customer Review: Nissan 18 oz travel mug

After lots of research, I purchased (2) of these mugs. My husband & I are avid coffee drinkers. We do really like this tumbler. It keeps coffee hot for a long time. I also like that the lid screws on easily & you can flip it closed on the top incase you got it a little full, w/ stop & go traffic. It holds a decent amount of coffee & the rubber grip on it is nice too. The cup size it not odd shaped either, it fits a regular coffee holder in vehicles. The cup is not dishwasher safe, but I do put the lids thru the DW. Seems like these were on the expensive side but I think worth it, we have had lots of other coffee cups that dont keep stuff hot or are hard to get the lid on etc etc. I am pleased w/ our purchase!!Customer Review: Best Tumbler you will ever buy

My wife bought one for me a few years back. Loved it. Kept the hot drinks hot for a while (even in the cold weather of the midwest) and kept the cold drinks cold. The flip top drinking opening is great. Of course there wil be some spillage is you turn the tumbler on it's side or upsidedown, but c'mon, you can't have it all. The point of this tumbler is to keep your drinks the way they should be for a long period of time, in a fashionable manner.
I bought two more of these items after thinking I lost my original tumbler. I found that my father-in-law was using my Nissan Stainless steel tumbler everyday himself. So I figured to buy a couple more for my wife and I. You wont be dissapointed!!

This travel tumbler keeps my beverages very hot for a long time! I used to have the 14 oz insulated travel mug, but lost it. The 14oz. pros are that it is truly spill-proof when closed, and it kept cold beverages cold longer than it kept hot ones hot. Cons of the 14 oz. are the hot beverages don't stay hot as long and the handle makes it rather awkward for fitting into bags, cupholders, etc.
The pros of this 18oz. travel tumbler are that they keep my hot beverages really hot and for a longer time than the 14 oz. one. Its amazing. The cons are that it really is not spill proof when closed, but I don't think it claims to. It fits nicely in my car cupholders and isn't awkward at all.

This company was great in getting my order out & to me, as I was going on a trip & really needed it. I have other Nissan products, & they are excellent. I have 2 of the Nissan thermos's one regular & one extra large for deer hunting, so this 18oz. cup is perfect. If 5th hope will send me sale flyers, I will keep buying from them. I don't think they went out of their way to get it to me, but I beleive their policy is good products, & excellent delivery schedule. I can't say enough good about them, as they even emailed me to let me know when it should get here, & that's part of them being a great place to buy from.
