I HAVE TRIED AT LEAST A HALF DOZEN ALUMINUM WATER CONTAINERS - PROBABLY MORE - AND THROWN THEM ALL AWAY AS THEY HAD ONLY SINGLE THICKNESS WALLS. THIS VACUUM WALLED THERMOS KEEPS THE LIQUID EITHER HOTTER OR COLDER MUCH LONGER, AND I CAN OPEN AND CLOSE THE LID WITH ONE HAND. IF I HAD IT TO DO OVER, I'D PROBABLY ORDER THE LARGER 22 OZ. SIZE OR/AND CONSIDER ORDERING THE TRAVEL MUG, BUT THAT DOESN'T DENIGRATE WHAT I HAVE. I ORDERED TWO THERMOS', ONE FOR WORK AND CAR, AND ONE FOR AT HOME. IF I HAVE A CHOICE I ALWAYS ORDER THROUGH AMAZON, EVEN IF THEIR PRODUCTS MIGHT BE A TAD MORE EXPENSIVE (WHICH THEY USUALLY AREN'T) AS THEY TEND TO BE RELIABLE. IF YOU'RE GOING TO BE PUTTING A LOT OF DIFFERENT LIQUIDS IN YOUR THERMOS, SUCH AS SOUPS, OR IF YOU'RE GOING TO BE USING YOUR THERMOS A LOT, I'D DEFINITELY RECOMEND ORDERING THE OXO BOTTLE BRUSH AT THE SAME TIME, UNLESS YOU ALREADY HAVE A BOTTLE BRUSH, OR JUST GO INTO A HARDWARE STORE OR SUPERMARKET AND BUY A BOTTLE BRUSH.Customer Review: Great bottle for your drinks

This is an amazing product. In the morning, I can place 6-8 crescent shape ice cube you get from the fridge, and my water is still cold with ice in it at the end of the day. It will still be cold/cool the next day. Here, day temps are 100+, so this is rather impressive.
My wife and I take it any time we leave on the weekend, and even during the week for work.
I have dropped the thing a few times, and it has landed on the plastic lid (while closed - on concrete. The only ill effect is little small marks I have to look for to find. The rubber sides do make holding on to it easy, and stays in place when placed with stuff...i.e. it will roll, but will not slide.
The cap seals very well, and have not had any leaking after a couple months....though based on some other reviews, I know at some point the seal will need replacing. I try to only screw it on enough to seal, and not just wrench the thing on.

I have this thermos and somehow the gasket came loose and fell out of the inside of the it. I love this thermos. I used it everyday, and not being able to use it was making me very unhappy. So I bought a new thermos from Amazon which arrived two days later. Then, I read a review on line which told me that the gaskets are known to come dislodged if dropped. The person who wrote the review said that they contacted Thermos,(the company) for a replacement which I did. The Thermos person was so helpful and even offered to send me a replacement gasket for my thermos free of charge since I only needed one. I couldn't believe it! Now, I have two working thermoses! Oh well, it could be worse. I could be throwing away a very expesive thermos because it leeked without the needed $1.00 gasket. Goes to show you that it pays to check things out before you buy and always check with the manufacturer for replacement parts. Go Thermos!Customer Review: GREAT water bottle, but be careful

other reviews reported that after about a year of use, the blue rubber ring on the inside of the cap start to comes loose and leaks. I would recommend not unscrewing the cap, and refilling with it on. Since the mouth on the cap is so wide, it shouldn't be a problem.
Other than that, I love this bottle! Keeps water cold all day, and the button makes it easy to drink one-handed. The cap then flips back and sticks in place so that it never flips back on accidentally. I can drink in bed or laying down on the couch, no problem. The latch on the button prevents accidental cap releases when you store it in your backpack or wherever.
Because of the small problem with the cap, I considered giving it 4 stars, but because it's an easy fix (again, just refill most of the time with the cap on), and considering how awesome this water bottle is, I still gave it a solid 5 stars.

I keep buying bottles in hopes that I don't throw them to the side. I've gone through a bunch of different kinds. Some with rubber straws that have claimed to be leak proof etc. This is the first bottle that I thoroughly enjoy. I've finally started to cut my use of energy drinks partially because of this bottle. I like the size of the opening - it's not small like a straw and it's not big enough to spill on yourself if your not paying attention. Also, as mentioned in another review, it's very easy to clean since the inside sleeve is not beveled or contoured. It keeps beverages cold or hot very well and doesn't affect the taste of the contents. I really like the lid design - it snaps open and can even be locked with a "toolbox" snap. I highly recommend this bottle, I'm going to get one for my dad who enjoys hunting for Christmas. If I lost this I would definitely buy another one.
