Customer Review: Stellar thermos sport cold beverage bottle

I have owned one of these Thermos cold beverage bottles for a couple of years, but it has fallen out of my stainless holder for it, which is attached to my bicycle several times, to the point I thought I had better get a backup...plus I wanted an extra one for my bicycle anyway... I decided to go on and purchase two of them from Amazon to get free shipping and also because I always want a back up one.
This stainless steel water bottle is the most wonderful piece of equipment I have had in years. It keeps my water and Crystal Lite cool for literally hours without refrigeration. I dont even have to put ice in it which dilutes my beverage. These Thermos sport bottles rock! It is a great gift for someone who takes a beverage to work each day or who rides bicycles. Many of our Withlacoochee Riders have two or more of these water bottles and everyone loves the feel of the bottle in their hand and enjoys the way it fits in the stainless steel holders that go on bicycles.

Customer Review: My PERFECT Water Bottle

Like so many others, I went on a mission to find a reusable, non-plastic water bottle. I tried this one and that. Since I discovered this bottle from Thermos, it is the one I always reach for!
The pluses...
- Keeps things cold... ALL.DAY.LONG!
- Has a great "chug" opening, it doesn't slop-around and land on you (usually), just gets you a "real" drink right in your mouth.
- The lid latches shut or "pops" open.
- I also like the fact that the lid is made from a semi-transparent (albiet dark colored) plastic. So. Even though the lid is big, when I am taking a drink and driving, I can still see through the lid. :D
The negs...
- None come to mind!
Actually, I bought two of these (eight months ago) and mis-placed one. "That's okay" you'd think, because I have two, but NO. Just before I misplaced mine, my hubby discovered how cool these are and he's claimed my spare as his own. Needless to say, I'm ordering SEVERAL new ones - so we'll each have a spare!

For quite some time I have been experimenting with different drink bottles. I tried the BPA free plastic, the ones that look like small water cooler bottles, the stainless steel bottles with funky tops, but none, I mean none have performed like this one.
I put two ice cubes in the bottle, fill it up with cold ice green tea, and it stays cold all day and even over night! I just press a button, and bingo, the cap pops open and presents me with a small drinking spout. Then, just close the cap and it is sealed and waiting for the next press of the button.
I have dropped mine several times, and although it doesn't look as nice, it still functions well and doesn't leak. However, I lost the gasket in one of the bottles (I purchased one for each family member) and now that bottle leaks. It is one of those "I know that I closed the bottle tightly, but it keeps dribbling on my shirt." leaks. Not sure how to replace the gasket, so if any of you know, I would appreciate a comment.
Customer Review: Do NOT use with hot liquids!

Ok, so I've had this bottle for exactly 7 days now and I LOVE it. It's stylish, doesn't leak, and insulates well. I have only used it with cold liquids but was interested in using it for hot as well.
I wanted to find out why the manufacturer states that it shouldn't be used for hot liquids. The scalding reason seemed insufficient since there are so many other similar Thermos products that can be used for both hot and cold.
Anyhow, here is the exact answer I received from customer service:
"Due to the mouth opening you can not control the volume flow of liquids.The hot liquids will also cause the gaskets to wear quicker and need to be replaced more often"
So, if you love ur hydration bottle and want the gaskets to retain their integrity, it's best not to use hot liquids inside!
By the way, Thermos customer service was wonderul as they responded to my email within a matter of hours.

Excellent quality and value; bought 4 to use on a rotation. I keep these filled in the fridge so that I will have cold water whenever I need it. I take it with me on day trips and leave in the car and the water stays cold all day long in the heat of the summer. I bought these after reading how the plastic in bottled water releases toxins into the water if left in a heated car, which defeats the purpose of drinking bottled water. This bottle is the best design with the push button to flip the top up to drink from the built-in sipper and easy to close while driving. The only improvement I would want is to make the diameter of the bottle a bit wider; it sits loose in my cup-holder and tends to tilt in curves. Also if wider, it would be shorter and holds the same amount of liquid. The height of the bottle causes it to be "in the way" when sitting in the cup-holder, but not a big deal. I still love these and would recommend it highly over the other bottles in the market.
