Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Thermos Nissan 14-Ounce Stainless-Steel Insulated Travel Tumbler

Customer Review: The smoke comes off!
Summary: 1 Stars

The "smoke" color is just a thin plastic colored
film. After about six months of use it comes
off and looks really ugly. Save your money and
just get the stainless version of this mug. The
mug is otherwise a great mug, but don't waste your
money on the colored versions--if you use them they
will quickly rub down to the stainless where they're
held, leaving a very ugly mug (like me looking in
the mirror ;-) ).

Customer Review: Another travel mug goes in the trash
Summary: 1 Stars

OK, when my $5 mug from Wal Mart leaked I wasn't too surprised. I had great hopes for this one, since Thermos has always been a reliable brand. Honestly, it leaks so much from the spout, it might as well be wide open. Is there such a thing as a leakproof travel mug???

Customer Review: Does not seal closed + leaks
Summary: 1 Stars

Well built but ultimately it leaks out the top. Why would anyone design it this way is beyond me?

I'd give it a 0 star if I could.

Customer Review: great for keeping drinks warm!
Summary: 4 Stars

Keeps coffee/tea warm for hours- impressive! Lid does leak when not kept upright, or in my case on my brisk walk to work little bits of coffee come out the top of the lid at the drinking spout cover. I put it in my bag once and of course it got turned onto the side--- coffee leaked everywhere! But I am satisfied because of it's superior insulation for temperatures... I'm just more careful.

Customer Review: Almost 10 years old and still works great
Summary: 4 Stars

Was given a pair of these 10 years ago and although they don't get daily use, they still get used a lot (I have mine with me right now). A couple of reviewers pointed out that they leak. They are not designed to seal at the top, but they still keep beverages hot for a long time anyway. If you need a leakproof travel mug, there are other choices. For typical commuter use, these are ideal. Make sure to hand wash.
