Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Thermos Element 5 16-Ounce Leak-Proof Food Jar

Customer Review: Great thermos!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have used this thermos so far for oatmeal or for scrambled eggs, so I can't really comment on the leak-proofness, although I suspect it would be just fine with something like soup. Keeps my breakfast hot to warm for the few hours that pass between making it at home in the morning and eating it at work. It might even keep food warm longer than that, I just haven't tried. Quality seems good and the number of uses so far and suspected longevity will far outweigh the cost in the long run.

Customer Review: Food goes in hot and comes out just right
Summary: 5 Stars

Have used this item 3 times thus far and have found it to be just fine. The mouth is plenty wide to eat out of and it looses heat at a rate that makes your meal just the right temperature 4-5 hours later. It has to loose heat because you have no real good way to control the heat unless you heat your food with a thermometer which would be ridiculous. This thermos appears to be engineered exactly the way a thermos should be at a reasonable price.

Customer Review: Keeps food warm.
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this thermos. I follow the advice from other users and I pour scalding hot water into the thermos 10 minutes before I put the food in there. Possibly, it helps to keep the food warm. I use it mostly for pasta and meat, not soups, so I can't testify whether it would leak or not. But it keeps the food warm all the way until lunch. Good size thermos. Not sure about the clip - what is it for, hang on your key chain? :)

Customer Review: Great for school age kids
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this for my 5th grader. He wanted hot soup for lunch, so I was looking for something that could hold at least 2 cups of soup. He is a big guy and need a big lunch. It holds a Ramen Noodle soup perfectly with some space to spare. I put hot water in the container while the hot water was soaking in the noodles. My son told me that the soup was hot and delicious 4 hours later for his lunch. Great product!!!!

Customer Review: Works great!
Summary: 5 Stars

I read all the reviews and placed my order. It works great, just like reported. Just make sure the lid doesn't cross thread and the thermos has a great seal.
I have taken cooked whole oats with milk in it, and haven't experienced any problem with it smelling, but I did make sure to wash it out before it sat overnight. Worth the price and nice looking as well.
