This is an excellent product. It is built like a Sherman Tank and is over-engineered. If you drink coffee slowly (like I do) you will appreciate the fact that it stays piping hot all morning long so you can sip away until lunch.
Also, it will not spill unless you lose the little rubber seal that attaches to the bottom of the lid. It's easy to lose it because it comes off for cleaning purposes. I lost mine and called Thermos Customer Service. I was surprised to find that I could talk to a live person with almost no hassles from the automatic voice responder. Just pushed one button and was connected. Wow! What a rare treat these days. The agent knew immediately what I needed. She mailed it to me and I received it in two days.
Also recommended - a bottle brush so you can clean inside the mug. The opening is very narrow.
If you're looking for the best this is it!

This is the second one I've owned and the second for my girlfriend; we replaced our approx 3 year old models after we'd lost both rubber handles (hint - glue them on - I used clear silicone adhesive). Keeps the coffee hot for at least 3 or 4 hours, keeps it drinkable up to around 6 or 7. Other than the rubber handles that will slide off nothing bad can be said of these; they are true Thermos style mugs (vacuum lined) and both liners are aluminum so there's nothing at all to break. The cap is ingenious; a simple twist on cap seals completely, and loosen it up a quarter to a half turn opens it up to drink - from either side. Little things like that are important to lefties like me. You can throw it in the dishwasher with no ill effects and it will last and last. I couldn't count the travel mugs I've owned in my life and nothing I've ever had comes close to these - well worth the money.Customer Review: This Mug is too good

I will make this short, I know most people have a lot to say when reviewing a product but we are talking about a mug here, really what can I say beside the fact that this thing does what it says. It will keep you coffee or other beverage hot for a long time I can say that using it while outside working in the yard it kept my coffee hot for 4 or 5 hours. The coffee was so hot after 2 or 3 that I had to leave the top unscrewed a bit just to cool it down. They say you get what you pay for and I think in this case while the price is a bit higher than most mugs it is well worth the price.
Alot of people had trouble with the top and the gaskets,I have had the small gasket come off a couple of times but It was easy to put it back on. If you pay attention when you was it you will be fine. Stop reading reviews and buy this, you will not be sorry.

I use this for Hot drinks (Coffee) only. I sip on the same 16 oz of coffee all day long. When you pour hot coffee right from the pot it will stay ultra hot all day long. If it is too hot for you, simply open the lid a bit and it will cool off some. I will sometimes fill it with hot water and let it sit until the coffee brews and this seems to make it last even longer.
I have owned one of these for at least a year and have dropped it on pavement numerous times. It's 100 % tough. I started washing it in the dishwasher because of pure laziness and after a month or two it was ruined and would no longer hold the heat. I'm an idiot and now I'm paying for it cause I'm shelling out another 30 + bucks for a new one.
Truth be told, it is worth the $$ because it is durable and effective.

This is the most rugged vacuum-sealed mug I've used, of 4 different brands and many more models. There are no moving parts in the lid other than the lid itself. It also has the cleanest mechanism for drinking, with no hidden surfaces or cracks that won't get washed and collect dried samples of the contents. The sealing mechanism is also the most positive I've seen, with no chance of being knocked loose from an impact, and certainly not from just tipping over. The drinking "mechanism" comes from a screw-on lid with two different positions (and two different seals). The result is that two hands (or one hand and squeezed legs, if driving) are required to open and close for drinking. Another possible drawback for some people is the diameter at the bottom is about 3.4 inches, larger than some automotive cup holders.
