Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of WonderwashCustomer Review: Eleven years on and wonderwash still rocks! Summary: 5 Stars
The resin used for the Wonderwash has turned a deep yellow color, so the unit itself looks quite '70's retro. But it was purchased in '99. At the time, we lived in an apartment and had to use a laundromat. We used it mainly for undies and bras and the like. It will clean jeans, towels, small blankets- the problem is drying the heavier items. (I purchased a ringer. So-so on that. Wish I'd have had access to a centrifugal spin dryer. A wonderwash and one of those would be the perfect compact portable laundry solution.) Can't underscore too much the ease of use. Also has been used by us for dying objects. I've used it in the tub, outside, on the kitchen counter. Eleven years of use, still going strong. Right now it is being borrowed by a friend. Still being used! Go Wonderwash!
Customer Review: Second time was the charm Summary: 5 Stars
My husband got me the Wonderwash for Christmas to save me from lugging the laundry down three flights of stairs and across an icy courtyard. Yes, it was my idea!
I was excited to put it to work, but was disappointed to find that because of inadequate packaging (thin bubble wrap in a slightly small box), the drain had nearly cracked off of the tub. We contacted Amazon, e-mailed a photo of the damage, and had a new Wonderwash a week later. Same packaging though...
Anyhoo, it works as advertised. The only issue I have is that because there is no spin, dust/fuzz/hair resettles on the clothes during draining. A quick swish in the sink before wringing takes care of that.
Very happy with this purchase.
Customer Review: Money Saver for Apartment dwellers Summary: 5 Stars
If you are single and live in an apartment without space for your own washer and dryer, this is the way to go. It works great to get your clothes clean, and with a little extra labor it is well worth it. I did a little math, it cost me about $10 to $15 a week at the laundromat, that is $50 to $60 a month. My total water bill is $12.00 a month. Do a load with this every other day or so and save at least $40 a month. That adds up to $480.00 a year. That's not including the gas you burn driving there.
Things I've been able to wash with Wonderwash: a bunch of various whites, socks, underwear, a couple of T-shirts; a pair of jeans with a sweatshirt, 2 unlined curtain panels, and even a winged back chair cover.
Customer Review: Wonder Wash Wonderful Summary: 5 Stars
I just received my wonder wash. Very little instructions came with it but I managed to put it together myself and if I can do it, anyone can. I washed 3 loads of clothes which included polo shirts and capris for work. I can see just about anything fitting in there within reason of course. It drained better than I expected after reading other reviews. It only took a little hand wringing to get water out of clothes. The lid was also easy to use although the first time I used it I didn't do so properly and water ended up all over my kitchen counter. After watching a Youtube presentation, I then proceeded to use my Wonder Wash with no problem. I would recommend this product to anyone and will do so starting with my friends.
Customer Review: A great product for small load of garment Summary: 5 Stars
I always want find a machine that not take much space, not use a lot of water, and can be used for small load of cloths (a dozen pair of socks or underwear, or kitchen towels, they are too "dirty" to put together with big load of not too "dirty" cloths). This wonderwasher cleans the "dirty" well with much less water used for regular machine. Also it especially works great for my pure wool sweaters. Sometimes I only want to wash one cloth, this machine is really handy.
I do put about 1 Table spoon of Borax with detergent, soak the load for 10 - 20 minutes.
I use this machine as washer and mini countertop spin dryer as dryer, they are two a wonderful energy efficient products.
