This is a fun product. It doesn't have a wide range of uses - it cooks hot dogs and toasts buns. You don't buy this toaster because you want to make it easier to cook hot dogs; you buy this product because it is fun to use. If you're not looking for fun, go get a toaster oven or one of the roller-style hot-dog cookers.
My younger kids like it because they can help make lunch on the weekends. It's easy for them to load and start the machine, although the older kids or I have to unload it.
My kids and I like our hot dogs a little burnt, like they get on a grill or over a campfire. We set it to maximum, and when it dings, they're nearly perfectly charred. If you set it lower, you will most likely need to cycle it a couple times before they are done.
