Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Swiss Diamond Cast-Aluminum Nonstick 10-1/4-Inch 3-4/5-Quart Open Saute PanCustomer Review: Doesn't Get Any Better Than This Summary: 5 StarsI was looking for a much better alternative to non-stick cooking and found it in the Swiss Diamond brand of cookware. I've been using this brand for over a year now and find no faults at all. Now have six pieces of this cookware and use no other. Well, I do still use an Emeril fry pan for eggs. If you want a long lasting non-stick cookware set look no further. Sure it costs a little more but is worth it in worry-free cooking.
Customer Review: Better than Scanpan Summary: 5 StarsI already had several pieces of Scanpan cookware which I had cared for meticulously, but which lost much of their nonstick property over time. Needless to say, this 11" sauté pan from Swiss Diamond was going to be compared to its Danish counterparts. So far, the Swiss Diamond seems to be far superior in every respect. Its cooking surface is not as smooth as Scanpan, and that seems to be by design, as nothing much sticks to the slightly rougher surface, and cleanup is a snap, without the scrubbing that Scanpan requires. If you get a Swiss Diamond pan with a lid, you will appreciate that the outer rim is reinforced with metal (no more chipping!) and the knob acts as a steam vent when you turn it--a clever design. Also, the handle is ergonomically designed, keeping your hand a bit farther removed from the heat source. The handle's rivets ARE present on the pan's interior, unlike the sleek Scanpan design, but the interior cleans up nicely. So far, so great!
Customer Review: Swiss Diamond is the best Summary: 5 StarsI've been cooking for over thirty years and can recommend this product without reservation. If you're in the market for a non-stick pan that isn't teflon, this is the pan for you. Even heating, a nice heft without being too heavy and easy cleanup - these are some of the qualities of Swiss Diamond. I own a lot of expensive cookware. This brand is rapidly becoming my favorite.
Customer Review: WARNING: this product is not "virtually indestructible" or "metal utencil safe" Summary: 1 StarsI recently bought a Swiss Diamond Saute Pan on the basis of a limited lifetime warranty and this claim in the product description:
"Swiss Diamond cookware features a revolutionary new non-stick incorporating diamond crystals ... to form a virtually indestructible non-stick cooking surface that will not crack, blister or peel. So durable its metal utensil safe."
After my experience using this pan I take issue with the terms "virtually indestructible" and "metal utensil safe" and feel that I have been deceived.
I've followed Swiss Diamond use and care instructions *to the letter* but not long after I started using the pan the surface became pockmarked. I would submit that the product is certainly neither "virtually indestructible" nor "metal utensil safe."
Interestingly their lifetime warranty does not cover "scratch marks," which is puzzling because they've just claimed it's "virtually indestructible" and "metal utensil safe." How is a "virtually indestructible" and "metal utensil safe" surface going to get scratch marks on it? Maybe they know something we don't?
