Customer Review: Fastest & easiest way to get one mug of boiling water

I've always had one or two Hot Shots since they first came out in the 1970's. It's the perfect simple little machine for the office or dorm room, or even master bathroom if you want a cup of tea without trekking to the kitchen.
Because you heat only exactly as much water as you need, it's faster than using my fancy expensive electric kettles, and much much faster than a cheapo hot pot. Note, though, that tall "tankard" style coffee mugs won't fit under the dispenser nozzle.
It won't last you forever, but will last for several years of daily or daily-plus use, in my experience. Great little appliance.

I chose to purchase my Sunbeam Hot Shot because of the consumer reviews I read on amazon. And true to word, this is an excellent product. I use it for tea every morning at work and it is an effortless process. Pour the water in, press the heat button and in about a minute I have nice steaming water. When I press the Dispense button to release the hot water into my cup, the button provides a barrier between the steam from the water and my fingers--very thoughtful feature. I highly recommend this product to anyone who would like tea, oatmeal or noodles at work--it's perfect for the office and I am 100% satisfied with my purchase.Customer Review: Love it already but it has lead in the cord???

I bought one yesterday and I love it already. It heats water very quickly and it's really easy to use. On the other hand, mine came with a warning label on the cord stating:
"Warning: The power cord on this product contains lead, a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling."
After reading that I fully expected to read "made in China" on the bottom and I wasn't disappointed. Let me guess, lead was cheaper than some other safer material right? They must have saved a few pennies per unit on that one - nice!

This thing is great! It heats the water almost too quickly. When I first got it, I figured I'd start the water heating, then go grab a tea bag or rip open an envelope of hot cocoa or get out and slice a lemon, but I quickly learned I have to have everything ready beforehand because otherwise the water was ready to dispense before I was ready for it! I do single servings of water (1 cup) twice per day, and I've been using it for months. It's still in perfect condition! One of the best investments I've made. The only drawback is that all the other appliances in my kitchen are black and this is white. Oh well.Customer Review: Simply the Best!!!

Quite a few years back, my wife and I were given this product as a Christmas present, and although a little skeptical at first, it has proven itself worthy of its name, and we've had three of them since then. They are just the best. If you want a quick cup of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, this is the baby for you. Plus, we've used it to heat up hot water when our babies were first born, and it came in really handy, as opposed to getting the water boiling on the stove. And you know how long that can take.
A marvelous product, and I hope they keep it around. It's a wonder!!!
