My family has been using this product for years. For some time it appeared to be off the market. I'm so glad I could find it on Amazon, anc now in two color choices. The old models lasted for years and were very dependable. (Just don't run them without water in them. That is not good for your equipment.)
It never crosses our minds to use the microwave for hot water. We automatically use the Hot Shot. Multiple cups of tea or cider or cocoa, your choice, can be made quite quickly. We also use it when recipes call for boiling water.
It's such a convenience. We keep a spare machine around just in case someone's finally gives up the ghost from overwork.

This is an amzing product that I now can't live without. It makes making one cup of tea unbelievably easy, but it's also convenient for making more cups as well. I'm a huge tea freak, and I love to offer tea to everyone that comes over, now it's so much easier because I don't have to wait for a huge kettle to boil, I can just heat the water quickly for each cup in the hot shot. My friends love it too, and I think several are planning on getting one of their own. By the way, I didn't notice any of the flavor problems that other people have mentiond either, and I'm quite sensitive to taste. I only use filtered or spring water to make tea, though, so that may be the difference.Customer Review: wors as illustrated

I wanted something to hot water in the office to make tea and hot cocoa. I did a search online and this was the most inexpensive. I read the reviews and was worried about taking the time to try it out. However, I did not want to spend $60.00 just for a device to hot water. I bought it and it works great so far. I have it for about 2 months now. Just follow the directions and it will be great. I know the thingy to pour water into your cup might seems flimsy but if you act with care and not force it to get the water into your cup in a hurry (with time it takes less than 30 seconds to full your cup there is no need to push down) this device will last for a long time.Customer Review: Excellent Product!

I purchased this for my Grandma. She has Maculuar Degeneration and is technically legally blind. She loves having her tea though and is very independent! That's why this is perfect! She knows where the buttons are and with her pre-measured cup we never have to worry about her burning herself. Great product! Also, I purchased one for my classroom at school. It is prefect for when I want a cup of tea during the day. It comes in handy when I need hot water for something in my classroom too! FYI - A friend found out that you NEVER put milk in here!! My Mom has one and she absolutely loves her Sunbeam Hot Shot Beverage machine, she has had this machine for many years.
I recently bought one for myself and Mom was right that I would also love mine! I use my Sunbeam Hot Shot Beverage machine to quickly heat up a cup of water for oatmeal, hot chocolate, soup or water for noodles.
I would buy this item for other people. It makes an excellent gift such as a housewarming, Christmas, birthday or anniversay gift. I truly LOVE my Sunbeam Hot Shot Beverage machine. My Mom's machine is getting old... I know what I will be getting her for Christmas this year!
