Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Sunbeam Hot Shot Beverage MachineCustomer Review: Nice Update Summary: 5 Stars
We've owned a much earlier (maybe early '90s) version of the Sunbeam Hot Shot, and it has served us well. In fact, the old machine still works; we just wanted to get a new one. Apparently, there were some problems with people accidentally turning the old models on with no water in them. The current model avoids that problem. It's just as fast at heating up water than the classic model, if not faster, and the opening into which you pour the cold water is more conveniently shaped and sized. Curiously, we've looked for these at several stores at which we were sure we'd find one. No luck, though... Just out of curiosity I did an amazon.com search and found that several affiliates had several different versions of the Hot Shot available, in stock, and ready for shipping. We received ours within a few days after placing an order and could not be happier with the product or the service.
Customer Review: the best appliance ever Summary: 5 Stars
this thing rocks!!! my cousin had it for 4 years throughout his college life and handed this to me, and it lasted me for another four years of college... that's eight years of service without one single problem, not to mention that i'm still using it right now. I'm one of those people who has to have a cup of hot tea first thing in the morning, and this hot shot sure was useful especially during dormitory years, could not have lived through my freshman year without it.
the only thing to keep in mind is to always pour the cold water in before you press the heat button, and that's it, nothing really complicated. the guy a couple reviews before me who complained about melting and possible fire hazzard is simply an idiot who can't operate a device with only two buttons on it.
you can't go wront with this thing.
Customer Review: A Kitchen Essential Summary: 5 Stars
I received my first Sunbeam Hot Shot Beverage Maker in 1977, as a holiday gift from co-workers. It was harvest gold, so I replaced it about 10 years later with a white one when I updated my life. It never wore out. Now, about 20 years later, I just replaced the white Hot Shot with a new white one, because the lid latch finally wore out--the main functions were still working fine. I use the Hot Shot daily to heat water quickly for tea, soup, hot chocolate, and many other things. I do not know what I would do without it. I have given Hot Shots to everyone in my family over the years, and (like me) they all have found it to be one of the most useful gifts they ever received. It is lightweight and compact, so it can even be taken on trips for use in hotel rooms or when staying with friends.
Customer Review: Great for the office -- AND for those with younger children Summary: 5 Stars
I got a Sunbeam Hot Shot about 6 years ago. It had been recommended by someone at work. I used it at work every day (and still do) -- and have since bought another for home. It makes 2 cups of hot water -- and is great for everything including tea, instant oatmeal and hot chocolate. When my daughter was younger, it was great for her because she could make her own hot chocolate or instant macaroni and cheese, and I wouldn't have to worry about her being burned on the hot stove. With the hot shot, you just pour your water in the top and hit the "heat" button. The machine will then shut itself off when the water is hot and you can dispense the water.
This is a great product and I highly recommend it for anyone who wants fast, convenient, and safe heating for hot water.
Customer Review: Simply Wonderful! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a fabulous product! Instead of heating up an entire pot of water in a slow coffee pot, you just heat up one cup at a time at amazingly fast speeds! It's less than 30 seconds from the time you pour the water in until it's in your cup super hot. Put the amount of water you want in your cup or mug, then pour that into the Hot Shot and press the heat button. Put your cup under the spot and when the light goes off your water is ready and press the dispense button to fill up your mug. It couldn't be simpler. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is a hot tea drinker, cocoa drinker, instant oatmeal eater, cup-o-soup eater, etc. - anyone who needs super hot water super fast!
