Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Sunbeam 6131 Hot Shot Hot Water DispenserCustomer Review: Hot Shot is COOL! Summary: 5 Stars
Nice little water heater for coffee and tea. It's fast, compact, and dependable. Have been using it for about three months and am happy that I purchased it over the many other types of appliances available.
Customer Review: Heats water quickly. Summary: 5 Stars
Other people have commented on the pros and cons of the Hot Shot. I have purchased 2 of these new models in black, and they work perfectly. Great for making tea, oatmeal, or just heating water quickly.
Customer Review: Great Product! Summary: 5 Stars
Love this product! Heats water in a minute or two. Works great!
My only comment would be that some of my taller mugs don't fit in it.
I would definitely recommend this product.
Customer Review: Hot Water! Summary: 5 Stars

Customer Review: Good product @ a good price Summary: 4 Stars
I've used this model for more than 6 months. It hasn't leaked. It hasn't failed. The heat up time is about 75 seconds. I have checked the heated temperature vs what I wanted for coffee (190 oF), and I found it was right on. You can't "double-heat" the water.
My only complaint is minor. I wish the cord holder in the base was a little more secure. It keeps falling out of the back when I pick it up, and I have to put it back into the base.
Hope I don't have to buy another for a while. DIDN'T HAPPEN....(:
Four stars with the minor complaint.
UPDATED INFORMATION
I had to buy asecond Hot Shot unit.
The first one (noted above) lasted about 9 months. The temperature switch failed. It would not stay on when pressed. You had to hold it down for say 15 seconds to make it continue to heat water.
And the water wasn't hot. When new, it produced water @ 190 oF -- just what I needed for coffee. After 9 months, the temperature seldom exceeded 160 oF.
But I only paid $18 for it, and I like the coffee...... :)
The new second Hot Shot doesn't have those problems. The switch works. The water is hotter than 190 oF. And quickly produced.
This unit has another problem. The hot water drains out very slowly. Perhaps more than 30 seconds to drain the full 3-cup charge. But, what's 30 seconds when you're waiting for a good cup of coffee?
I'll probably try another brand when this dies.......
