I had been interested in purchasing a dutch oven but really did not know which brand to purchase.
When a shopping alert on simplyrecipes.com came up for the Staub 5 quart Round Cocotte in Yellow I grabbed it! It was one of the best purchases ever! I love the "french" oven for its superior quality and excellent ease of cleaning. The black inside also is a plus as I know that other brand has a white inside that gets colored with whatever you've cooked. I highly recommend this product. I would suggest you purchase a larger size than the 5 qt

Staub is truly the best dutch oven in the marketplace!
Flawlessly beautiful, inside and out! The oven's cover is heavy enough to act as a "seal" keeping the food's juices in, rather than escaping as steam. The design of dimples inside the cover collects steamy moisture during cooking, and condenses it to liquid to become self-basting flavor for the dish. Storage, with this large heavy pot is not a problem for me. It sits proudly on my stovetop, ready for use or admiration!

I bought this on a whim to see if Bolognese sauce would come out better than it already is. It does come out richer and fuller in this pot. I was so excited I then made Beef Stew, Coq au Vin, Braised Short Ribs and I just can't stop using it. The flavors seem to be enhanced by the pot. My family can't get enough. I haven't cooked so much in 30 years! Cleaning it is a breeze! Never needs scrubbing. Food particles just wash away with soap and water and a soft sponge.Customer Review: Perfect for 1 or 2 people

This is the 2nd Cocotte (dutch oven to me) of this size that I have purchased through amazon. I use the first and have given this one to an elderly friend. Coupled with the cookbook, "Glorious One-Pot Meals," I can create a meal that is nutritious and gives me 3 days worth with less than 1/2 hour preparation and 45 minutes in my oven.Customer Review: Staub 5 Quart Round Cocotte

Item is satisfactory it doesn't seem as heavy as LeCreuset and the edge around the pot is not consistent and becomes thin in places. I would not buy another Staub pot and will keep this one and appreciate the positive aspects of it.
