I bought a JarPop for myself with the idea that it wasn't very expensive if it didn't work as advertised so I wouldn't be out much money. I have arthritis in my hands and can't grip very hard. It was painful opening jars or I had to have my husband open them. I loved this prduct so much that I ordered more for my daughter, daughter-in-law, mother, daughter-in-law's mother, and even my daughter's mother-in-law. Since I have had the JarPop, I haven't had to ask my husband to open a jar (he always seemed to be busy or had dirty hands). I have even found other uses for the JarPop, such as getting the plastic lids off of glass bottles of milk. I would suggest investing a few dollars on this product, you will not be sorry.Customer Review: A must have!

If you've ever had a problem twisting the lid off of a jar you must get one of these. My mother in law bought me one of these for Christmas last year and after trying it out I bought 2 more for my mother and grandmother. What it does is releases the vacuum seal from the jar, and as soon as you hear the pressue release you are able to twist the top off easily (as if the jar had already been opened).
Since getting this product I have been able to open every jar myself rather than needing to ask for help from someone else. No kitchen should be without one.

I bought a couple of these as presents about two years ago, and they've been great. I just purchased another as a present for my sister-in-law.
It is perfect for popping the seal on the kind of jar that has a stamped metal lid, maybe 3/8" to 1/2" thick, where the lid doesn't really have defined threads. It's the kind of lid often found on jars of salsa, pasta sauce, fruit juice, baby food, etc. It does not open jars with taller, threaded lids, nor is it for use on beer or soda bottles.
Again: great single-purpose product that performs flawlessly!

I got one of these gadgets as a gift and LOVE it - when you have a vacuum sealed jar (jam, spagetti sauce), just use this device like an old can opener, putting up against the edge of the jar's lid and then tipping the jarpop counterclockwise. The jarpop will break the vacuum seal (you'll hear a little "pop") and then you can open the jar just as if it was an already opened jar w/ no effort at all. My mom liked my jar pop so much she took it home w/ her. Now I got several and I give them to all the women friends I have as stocking stuffers,etc. They are so handy!!Customer Review: fantastic for opening twist off jars

My stepmom had one in her home when I went to visit - it was so great I had to run out and get one! Basically the item works kind of like the old metal hand held bottle openers. It has a lip which you place under the edge of the twist off top. You then lift the handle very slightly and hear the vacuum seal on the jar pop and release. Then you can open the jar with ease - as if it were an already opened jar. A great invention, I keep them on hand as stocking stuffers for friends.
