I never thought I needed another gadget in the kitchen. So many recipes call for pounding meat, and I tried all kinds of things -- rolling pins, cans of tomatoes, etc., and never really achieved good results. But I figured, who needs pounded meat anyway. (And very important -- my mother didn't have one)! Then I watched a caterer friend make a rolled chicken dish, and she was pounding away with her tenderizer and the result was so quick and easy. So, I decided to add this tenderizer to my already filled drawer of miscellaneous cooking stuff. But, it's changed my cooking life -- the dreaded dry chicken breast recipes are now something different with the tenderized meat. It just does the job so quickly and evenly (as opposed to the cans of tomatoes that really didn't work). I love this tool!
