a year ago i was searching for a replacement for the stainless steel bowls i had been using for over 20 years. not sure what i was looking for i started my search on amazon with OXO, but even though those work bowls were well recommended i knew i had found what i was looking for with these Softworks bowls.
the rubberized base and lip-handle are sticky even if your surface or hands are wet, greasy, or floured, keeping the bowl upright when others may slip. the pouring lip is perfectly engineered for thick liquid, thin, or heavy batters.
so, a year ago i bought one set, an additional 5 qt. bowl, and an additional 1 qt. bowl, as well as two sets of the 4 covered 1 cup prep bowls.
after making baklava last night i decided i needed three of the 1 qt. bowls (one bowl for each layer of the nut mixture, set out in advance... speed matter with philo dough.) so i am back for another set.
these bowls are so useful and used so frequently in the kitchen that they live on wire shelves i have placed by the main work area so that i may reach for them at any point and have them available for the job at hand.

These bowls are great?! Here's why:
- High sides (less spills when mixing ingredients)
- No slip bottoms (stays put when you set it on the counter)
- Sucure lids (not loose)
- Sturdy plastic construction (fairly thick, but not heavy)
- Easy pour spouts
- Easy hold handle (for pouring)
- Measuring amounts are printed inside of bowls (in cups)
I don't think there is anything I don't like about these bowls. One consideration might be that some people don't want their bowl to "stay put." You cannot turn it in circles easily while stirring, nor can you slide it across the counter as you normally do with other mixing bowls that don't have the no-slip bottoms. This takes a tiny bit of getting used to, but I like the no-slip bottoms, as well as all the other features of the bowls. Overall, they are good quality mixing bowls that can double to store foods in.

First let me say, these bowls are used in my house almost on a daily basis. I love them! I love them so much I have gifted these to family members a few times. I know they aren't microwaveable but they are still my favorite. They are very sturdy, not thin and flimsy at all. They don't slide while you are mixing which is very nice especially when you have your children helping. I have had my bowls for over two years now and have always put them in the dishwasher. I have not noticed any ill effects from the dishwasher. When I first got them I was worried about them being white. Sometimes plastic becomes discolored from the food. Mine are still just as white as they were when I bought them, not a bit of color staining on them! I had a set of nested lightweight bowls, that had a bit of a pour spout..but
not enough...I was still pouring 1/2 of my product on the
counter top..decided to find another set that actually worked!
These do! And they do NOT slide around on the counter/table top either.
A nice set for newlyweds setting up house. Just watch that you don't
do what I did, I thought there was another larger bowl and ordered it
(well, you might actually READ...I guess I didn't!) so I ordered and now
have another of the largest bowl in this set...but that's not all bad =)
This is really a great set, another fine Amazon product.
Customer Review: perfect for those with hand or wrist issues

I have the batter bowl version of this as well and love it. These don't have the long handle so I was a little concerned. I have functionality issues with my right hand and wrist so I can't lift, grip, hold, or twist things hardly at all. these bowls are light enough for me to handle, the rubber bottom grips the counter well so i don't have to apply the pressure that I simply cannot, and the lip is just long enough for me to grasp and hold onto lightly. Actually, if there was a handle, i wouldn't be able to hold it because my wrist does not rotate any more.
i hand wash dishes so I don't know how they will hold up in a dishwasher. Great item.
