Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Si-tex Sp-70mt Mechanical Dash Drive W/built-in FeedbackCustomer Review: Slant Fin So-So Summary: 2 Stars
While this does offer a few reliable features like the UV light, etc., I agree with other reviewers about the inconvenience of the loud noise and the bright lights. I used this model in my bedroom and had to tape cardboard over the illuminated controls because their bright blue light was driving me nuts and making sleeping more difficulty (the exact opposite of what I bought the humidifier for). I did manage to block the light with white tape and white cardboard, so it didn't look too tacky. The lights are on one side, so turning the unit away from my bed cut down on the brightness as well. The model did churn out a great deal of steam, but required more cleaning as time went on (about 2-3x/week). The "mineral pad" that acts as a filter of sorts disintegrated and was nasty to deal with. The hot item it wrapped around totally rusted and was hard to de-cake from mineral buildup. I can only imagine that the water coming out of this device was influenced by the rust node, since after a day or two, when emptied I would notice rusty slime coating the bowels of the device. Maybe this is not unique to my situation or humidifiers in general; I have only owned two.
Customer Review: Steams Well But Hygrometer Stopped Working Summary: 2 Stars
This is our second (i think) winter using this humidifier. One of the reasons I chose this model was for the digital hygrometer. This feature stopped working after a time (not sure at this point if it was a month or just a little more). Like other warm mist units I have owned in the past, the heating element becomes scaled and is difficult to deal with if not kept up with. (I'll try the CLR another reviewer mentioned.) The light is very bright. Initially, the fan was barely audible, but the last couple weeks, it has gotten louder like it might be getting old and ready to quit. After reading several others having problems with the hygrometer, I'm not sure I'd but another one.
Customer Review: slant fin 211D review Summary: 2 Stars
I have found the noise level from the fan to be very loud. There is nothing quiet about this product. I have been very disappointed in this humidifier. The controls are easy to read and use, filling the tank is easy with the large opening. But, you cannot use this humidifier in a bedroom. The digital display lights the entire room at night and the fan motor sounds like a freight train. So I would not recommend this product based on the amount of light it produces and the noise factor.
Customer Review: Lasted 1 week Summary: 1 Stars
It worked great for a week, but then displayed an error code (ER3) and stopped working. I called customer service, and they immediately said I should return it. They didn't even try to have me get it repaired.
They said the hygrometer wasn't working. It seems it had never worked correctly, but the unit managed to keep humidifing for a week.
I exchanged for another humidifier, but a different brand altogether.
Customer Review: HORRIBLE.LEAKING ALL OVER. Summary: 1 Stars
Used this about a month.i don't think the display ever worked correctly
as it never displays the room humidity when turned on.
Now the water just keeps running out all over the floor when its
been turned on for 15 minutes or more.what a disaster.Spare yourself
some misery and look at a different model.this one is going back.
