Customer Review: Good humidifier, but hard for older person to fill with water.

I bought this for my mom,with severe psoriasis - it did help a lot. I bought the mineral pads in bulk to save money - they lasted about 3 days apiece with the hard water of San Diego. I did not have any problems with rusting, or with the electronics. After my mom moved back to Missouri she gave this unit to me - I eventually killed it by chipping away at the scale buildup to much - I should have followed the instructions. I had to clean the heating part of it about every two weeks. Overall, well worth the bother - it does really help me when I have respiratory problems (like now), and the medicine cup is great to use with Vicks or another brand of humidifier additive. The lighted board does not bother me at night when sleeping, as I leave lights on for a 20 year old dog anyway to navigate up and down from the bed. I am buying another one, and saving the good parts off the one I wrecked. Also, I have never had to replace one UV bulb yet - and it has probably had a year or two's use.Customer Review: Pretty pleased with this product

I'm overall pleased with this product. I own 2 and I'm about to order 2 more. I dont understand why many reviews say it is loud, I don't find that to be the case at all. I would be the first to complain if it was too loud, I've owned several different humidifiers and this one is by far one of the quietest. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the display on both of my units stopped working with in a year. I contacted the company, I did have to pay to ship it back but they sent me new ones of the newer model Enviracare EWM-211D and I have had no problems with it. It does get dirty, like all humidfiers, so I let it soak in vinagar all day, scrub a little and the calcium build up comes right off. the light is a little bright but that doesn't bother me, it's a good night light for my son's rooms.Customer Review: Quiet, easy to clean

I have owned this humidifier for over two months and I would have given it five stars, but the hygrometer went out on it after a few days of use. I would have sent it back, but I needed a humidifier BAD. This unit humidifies my entire home (1100 SQ FT). It is quiet, but sometimes glugs when it takes on more water. The boiling sort of sounds like an alka-seltzer fizzing, and the fan is not annoying either. I use distilled water so I don't have to clean so often. About once a month I clean the heating unit which is very easy. I let it soak in CLR and then the calcium build-up chips away.Customer Review: Works quite well, but hygrometer dodgy

We have used two of these units at home for a few months. Overall, they work quite well: a column of steam comes forth, and the place is thus humidified. Refill in the bathtub is easy. However, both of them have very unreliable hygrometers so the automatic function is useless: I bought some cheap analog hygrometers and operate the units manually.
They are not all that loud; the noise only bothers me when I'm trying to get to sleep and I have one running in the bedroom.

I have had my unit over two years now and it has never done all those horrible things the reviwers say. I keep the unit faced away from my bed so I never notice the lights, the sound to me is white noise and curiously reassuring. It is very easy to remove the water tank and to fill at the kitchen sink. So far the only challenge has been buying filters on line. Two other family members bought at the same time and they have no complaints. Hardly a piece of junk!
