After five years with my old GE microwave, I was reluctent to put it in the recyle bin, but after a year of burning food in the center of the machine, it was time. My new Sharp arrived and in a short time I was zapping my frozen dinners, warming my left over coffee, and softening the butter for my Christmas cookies. It was easy to use and the results are great. My popcorn comes out perfect with fewer "old maids" than than usual. I love it. Glad I made the swap.Customer Review: Excellent first impressions

I really like this microwave -- although it was quite heavy to transport around. The finish is beautiful and the controls are nice. It heats well, has plenty of settings, and a nice removable heating plate that can rotate while cooking.
The only complaint I have is that one of the legs on the bottom of the unit was slightly shorter than the other three, creating a whobble when you push down on the unit. Otherwise, no problems -- quick shipping as well.

This is no marketing ploy or whatever people are saying about another reviewer's comments. I purchased a Sharp Carousel mid-size unit with the same dimensions as this one in 1991. Yesterday (5/30/2010), it stopped working. Please, do the math!! I also love the many convenience features that the Sharp Carousel has. I think that is all of the endorsement I need to give here. I was looking to replace my 15 year-old Panasonic microwave. Since I don't really cook with this appliance - I essentially use it to reheat left-overs, thaw frozen vegetables, and occasionally make popcorn - I didn't want to spend a lot of money for one that was loaded with features I wouldn't use. The Sharp R-305KS adequately meets my needs. Its design is also quite attractive. Hopefully, this will last me for another 15 years as well.Customer Review: Excellent product, excellent price

What a deal! This is a sharp looking microwave and it works as great as it looks. We last bought a microwave about 5 years ago. Can't believe how the cooking speed and thoroughness has improved. This micro looks high end (goes well with the rest of my stainless steel kitchen appliances) but cost under $100. The features are excellent. Couldn't be happier with the performance. I highly recommend this product.
