Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Sharp R-305KS 1-Cubic-Foot 1100-Watt Microwave Oven, StainlessCustomer Review: serve its purpose Summary: 4 Stars
I have used both Panasonic and Sharp microwave in the past. Liked both brand. Read and studied reviews from others and then purchase this Sharp more basic ones. Most time I use the features for reheat or defrost. Both feature works very efficiently. The price is right. I do not like the user interface on this unit. I use `minutes plus' feature a lot. The button is not big enough and sometimes I have to press 2nd time in order to make it to work. So I put a little round sticker to make it easier for my finger. For defrost, it is 2-3 steps process and you have to read the instructions on the unit while the door is open to choose the right setting. Maybe that is why it works efficient. The working efficiency is a 5 star, the look is a 5 star, the price is a 5 star and the user interface is a 3 star. Amazon's 2 day delivery services is a 5 star.
Customer Review: Works well, no problems Summary: 4 Stars
We have had this for a year, give or take, and have not had a problem yet. With that in mind it is a microwave. My last one lasted 10 years or more. I expect this one to as well. it seems sturdy, it cooks well. It is not too powerful (yes this is possible) so most things that say cook for 1 min actually do take 1 minute.
We do not use this as much as other appliances but when we do we are confident it will work. It is easy to clean too. Easy to use, easy to set the clock, easy to open, etc. It fits all the dishes we use in the microwave. It is bigger inside than the one it replaced, but that was 10+ years old so I would hope this one has more internal room. It has the same external dimensions as the old one, give or take.
It works, enough said about that.
Customer Review: great - if this is what one needs. It is for me Summary: 4 Stars
I had another brand which did magnificently for 12 years. I couldn't find one similar in the same brand, so went to the Sharp. It is the size that a couple almost 80 years old can use best. We do little cooking in the microwave - more reheating coffee, or warming up food that has already been cooked on the stove. Oh, it does cook our oatmeal daily - generally 3 min at 50% power. Price was right, and shipping was included. Why not 5 stars? -- we prefer the door with a handle like our previous microwave had. For those who prefer "push" over "pull" - it is a 5 star.Sharp R-305KS 1-Cubic-Foot 1100-Watt Microwave Oven, Stainless
Customer Review: Does what it's suppose to Summary: 4 Stars
I needed to replace my GE Overrange Microwave (which magnatron broke after only three yrs) and decided with so many bad reviews of the more expensive brands to go ahead and try the Sharp R-305KS. So far, so good! It fits my countertop and looks really nice. I find it easy to use. The only thing in comparison to the GE model is that it takes a little longer to cook food thoroughly and sometimes there are uneven areas (but I haven't used a microwave that cooks food perfectly even anyway). As long as this microwave outlasts my GE (which now serves as a breadbox) I'll be happy. I'll be happier anyway just because I didn't have to spend a fortune on this one!
Customer Review: Works well so far; LCD fogs up Summary: 4 Stars
Have only had for a few days, so perhaps a review is premature? Regardless, it arrived in good working condition, and is a microwave. Is there much else to say?
On the negative side, from day one, nuke one, the LCD panel fogs up from steam from the inside of the microwave I'd assume. Now, I'm no electronics design guru, but that can't be good sign for the life of the internal components.
It replaced my old Amana, which was over 20 years old, working like a champ, but starting to spark a bit. That thing was half microwave, half Russian nuclear sub. Somehow I'm doubting this one will make the 20 year mark.
