Perhaps I was lucky....my microwave arrived in tip top shape about 3 weeks ago and it has worked perfectly ever since. It is a good compact-sized microwave for a small apartment, dorm room, or loft. I like the quick minute function but have not tried the other food shortcuts yet. The only drawback so far has been that the inside light does not come back on when the food is finished being heated. I bought an earlier model of this microwave when I moved to NY, just over 8 years ago. It worked perfectly until last week when the carousel motor burned out (the microwave still works fine, save for that my food no longer spins in circles). I am now purchasing my second one. I never really used any of the special feature buttons, but can attest to this microwave's longevity and ability to function as a timer.Customer Review: works good and guiet so far

I have had this item for a month, it's too early to review. So far don't have much complain. I basically use only 2 functions, heating beverage and cook sweetpotato.
cons: With my previous one, it only took 7 minutes for 2 potatos but it takes almost twice time to cook the same amount of sweetpotato.
pro: it has quiet sound (button, operating). love that.

I ordered this microwave for overnight delivery, and it was here the next morning! The unit does a good job, although it is a little noisy. Also, the light does not stay on when the door is opened. My first unit was a Sharp, which lasted for 8 or 9 years. Then I had a GE which only lasted for 18 months. Nice update to the Sharp Carousel that I owned for 12 years. More sleek looking and a bit lighter. Good for everyday use. The glass plate from my old Sharp microwave is identical to the one in this new oven, so I saved it just in case. Very satisfied with this purchase, works well and takes up minimal space on my countertop. I highly recommend it.
