I don't get it. I don't know why, but I can't blend anything in this blender. I tried 8 oz of milk and 1/2 a banana today and it couldn't handle it--after 1 minute there were chunks of banana sitting in the drink. 1 more minute and they were still there. What's wrong with mine vs everybody elses? On the plus side, throw a couple cloves of garlic, press once and the skin flies off. Take out the skin and press 3-4 more times and you've got coarsely chopped garlic (at which point I throw in 1 stick of room temp salted butter, 1/4 tsp black pepper, 1/2 tsp thyme, 1/2 tsp parsley and 1/4 tsp of oregano, 1/4 tsp salt blend it for 20 seconds and I have a quick garlic butter. Unfortunately, that's not what I bought it for :\
It's beautiful and all, but it just can't handle blending solids to puree, let alone ice for smoothies.
