This is a wonderful blender and I love it for making smoothies. I used to have the smoothie maker elite with a pour spout. The problem with it was that the spout did not work for thick smoothies so it would just clog the spout. Whenever I tried to clean the spout, some of the drink would stick in there and not come out. I tried all kinds of brushes to get it out and nothing worked. It got so corroded with leftover smoothie remains that I couldn't stand to use it and threw it out.
I saw this blend and thought I'd take a chance on it even though it's better for individual smoothies and not a large batch to accomodate the entire family. This works so well and really blends beautifully. We make smoothies on a regular basis and the kids love them. We now customize each person's smoothie so everyone gets the fruit and additions they want. THis is pretty noisy but I can't imagine anything being quieter while breaking up frozen pieces of fruit. It works quickly and once we start blending, we have our smoothies in just a couple of minutes. The pieces of this are also dishwater safe on the top shelf so it's easy clean up as well.
We've had it for about 6 months now and still love it. THis is a great price for what you get.
