I purchased this scale because my 10 year old was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. We need to count carbs to figure out how much insulin to give her. This scale is perfect for travel as it is light weight and folds up to fit in her Diabetes tote bag. I love that foods are already programmed in- all I have to do is weigh the item, spell out the food, and up pops all the nutrition information! This has made my life SO much easier and I am confident that it is accurate because I spot check the information with food labels. She is able to eat foods at school now because I have a way to figure out how many carbs she will be eating. On pasta lunch day I go to the lunch room and weigh her pasta, she takes her insulin, and can eat the same lunch as all her friends. I highly recommend this scale if you are looking for a portable scale for figuring out nutrition information.
