Customer Review: Don't waste your money

I purchased this scale after receiving many recommendations about Salter's quality. However, after not using it for the past three months, I turned it on and I received an error. I called Salter and they said not to worry and that they'd fix or replace it. They gave me an address to send the scale to. So I pay to mail it back to the address I was given and upon checking the delivery confirmation status after finding the slip, I read that the package was undeliverable. So I was given the wrong address by their service representative and one of two things will now happen: I'll receive the scale back (although unlikely, as it's been quite some time since it was refused) and I'll have to AGAIN pay to ship it to them to fix hoping they give me the right address, OR it's lost in the mail and I have to buy a new scale entirely. I am thoroughly disappointed.

The Microtronic Kitchen Scale weighs in both pounds and kilos and measures in precise 1/8 ounce increments. This easy to read 5-pound compact scale automatically adjusts for use with most bowls or containers or can weigh directly onto the platform. It is highly resistant to staining or flavor carry over and has an add weigh feature for convenience of adding individual ingredients using the same bowl while its on the scale. The auto shut off and auto zero feature, an easy to read 0.4" LCD display, 10 year warranty make this scale ideal for dietary or general use.English manufacturer Salter understands that the best cooking requires impeccable standards in precision. A slight measurement difference between two and four ounces of minced jalapeno pepper in a recipe can mean disaster. To avoid such mishaps, Salter created this microtronic scale. The scale features a round 5-3/4-inch diameter plate upon which to place ingredients.
