Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of SE Jeweler's Loupe - 30XCustomer Review: Nifty little tool - excellent price Summary: 5 Stars
For the rock bottom price this is a nice quality loupe. It even comes with its own little storage case. When folded together it is no more that 1.5 inches in diameter and not even an inch thick so you could easily tuck it in a pocket and carry it around with you.
For those of you who are confused about what this is: if you've ever seen a movie where a thief brings his loot to his fence and the fence looks at the diamonds with his little scope...that's a loupe. The focal point of the lens is practically right in front of it but it allows for decent magnification with a relatively small lens diameter. Great for a variety of odd little tasks, including inspecting the quality of stolen diamonds ;)
Customer Review: Perfection! Excellent materials, function, and packaging. Summary: 5 Stars
This product exceeded all my expectations.
First, the 30x magnification loup provided very clear images, and good optical qualities, and capable of incredible detail.
The lens seems to be glass (as opposed to acrylic or plastic), and the housing is a good grade, sturdy steel with a highly-polished finish.
It comes packaged in a nice clamshell plastic case, for permanent storage, if one desires.
All in all, I was very impressed with the quality, price, usefulness, and speed of shipping.
A very good find.
Customer Review: Good product, great price! Summary: 5 Stars
I was in the market for a fairly high power, but cost effective magnification product. This product fit the bill perfectly. I can't verify 30x power, but I can say that I can the see the smallest dots of ink on my aviation charts! For the price, I couldn't be happier :) (~$8, ~13 w/ shipping)
p.s. If you have never used a loupe, the area that is magnified is very small. You must look at the direct center of the loupe. The loupe will need to be close to the object ( < 1 inch) and you will have to get close up to the loupe ( < 6 inch).
Customer Review: handy little gadget Summary: 5 Stars
I'm no jeweler, or watch guru. I just needed something to help me with minor repairs on my watches. This loupe is very helpful and for the price it's awesome. It comes in a little plastic case so its easy to store. Magnification is good enough to see the small scratches on my watches, and more importantly I can see the battery model numbers with ease and all the other fine watch details. No complaints here.
Customer Review: A great product at a great price Summary: 5 Stars
This loupe has a nice solid feel and has a good weight to it.
Alot of people are saying that it is 10x and not 30x but since I got it to look at plant species and cultures on petri plates the magnification this provides is more then enough to suit my needs.
I would prefer is it was a brushed steel instead of chrome because fingerprints really stand out on the casing.
