Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Rolling Hills Rolling Pin RingsCustomer Review: Great for even thickness when rolling out doughs Summary: 4 Stars
I have a 2" rolling pin, and these work fantastic. I've had no trouble with the bands slipping or turning out dough inconsistent with the measurements on the rings as a previous reviewer suggested. I love that you get a set of four different sizes in one bag, 1/16", 1/8", 1/4" and 3/8", to allow for all the different things I make with my rolling pin. These are especially great for thicker dough, like biscuits - without the rings I can never seem to get the thickness uniform across the sheet of dough.
I would not suggest using these on rolling pins thicker than 2", but otherwise these are a great addition to any kitchen.
Customer Review: Perfect cookies!!! Summary: 4 Stars
Unless you're looking for a very specific thickness, these rings are the greatest. I use them to roll out perfectly even dough for sugar cookies and for gingerbread houses.
My only complaint would be that sometimes one of the rings pops off. This could be because of my gazillion-year-old rolling pin or the fact that the doughs contain a lot of butter or oil. It's not a big deal, just a minor annoyance.
Customer Review: handy item Summary: 4 Stars
I saw these rings on an episode of the Martha Stewart show. She was right they are a great tool to have no more guess work on rolling your dough out to the right thickness. Fits easily on my rolling pin and gives me the right thickness every time, perfect item for the pie crust maker.
Customer Review: great cookies Summary: 4 Stars
product very useful for use with cookie cutters that have designs stamped in them. all cookies will be uniform thickness and the stamped designs will be imprinted on each cookie uniformly.
Customer Review: simplicity Summary: 4 Stars
fun to use. Helpful if you have a 2nd rolling pin WITHOUT rings on it to use in prepping the dough for "final" rolling to thickness using a pin with the rings installed.
