These knives are great! Although my wife has bought what she has thought were good knives over the years, they were not nearly as good as these. They are sharp, well-balanced, and have good, grippable handles. And did I mention that they are sharp? Even the scissor-type cutters work very well.
What prompted me to buy these for my wife was a visit from a knife salesman. A friend talked us into letting her daughter's boyfriend come and do a demo of Cutco knives. Cutco makes what looks like the world's best knife, but they are not cheap. My wife picked out two items for $240, delivered. That led me to look on Amazon (the only place we shop) for Rachel Ray knives. My wife has many of Rachel's products, and she loves them. I looked at all of the cutlery offerings on Amazon and decided that his set would be good. These were delivered several days before the two Cutco knives.
At more than TEN TIMES the price, the Cutco knives have a lifetime guarantee and can be put into the dishwasher. Otherwise, you'd be hard-pressed to choose between them and the Rachel Ray.

Strong without being heavy, each Füri Rachael Ray Gusto Grip knife is constructed from a single piece of superior German CrMoV stainless-steel alloy, with a forged bolster and strong tang. Molded around the tang is an inner core of durable polypropylene and an outer layer of synthetic rubber for all-day, non-slip comfort. One new feature is the anti-microbial agent permanently infused into the polypropylene.
